Okay... This is a bit odd...

My new Windows 7 PC came today, so I took the hard drive out of my old one and started copying the files over to the new drive...

And I noticed this.

5 or less seconds to go... 0 bytes to go... Over two-hundred THOUSAND files to go still? O_o

Am I doing something wrong...?

It's a SATA drive, not an IDE one. Doesn't have that master/slave system.

Generally, I've only had that problem when using a USB drive that disconnected, or whilst copying from a disk with bad sectors on the HDD.

Have you run a utility such as SeaTools to determine the drive health? The DOS version is the one to use.
