Good day to you Sir/Madam
I hope i find you fit and well, but down to the reason i find myself sending you this message.
While on a normal trade run between Bretonia and Rhineland i was passing through Omega 7 and found to my amazement three CR vessels sitting outside of Friedstadt Base. Now normally the IMG and Gateway get on famously but according to my information the CR are allied with the Corsairs who, as we all know, like to pirate on this trade route as well as many other rifraf.
I do know that Omega 3 and Omega 7 are the subject of a treaty between Bretonia and Rhineland but as a humble tradeship Captain i am not privy to such information and i would like to know 1) Are Gateway ships in any more danger from the CR ? and 2) I thought the CR systems are far to the North of Sirius so what are they doing in Omega 7 ? and lastly 3) Is this another lot of rouges that Gateway has to avoid ? .
I apologies to set another burden on your already overworked offices but if i could find out if this is something to be concerned about i will have to think about hireing more than one escort to complete trade runs in the future.

Mr McDonald,
Thank you for your request for information. Vessels of the Colonial Republic, otherwise known as the Colonial Remnant, are known to operate in many corners of Sirius outside of their homeland in the Upper Taus. Their presence in Omega 7 could be accounted for by benign reasons, such as trade with Rheinland, or less benign, such as dealings with the Corsairs. Either way, the Federal Government of Rheinland has not yet taken any steps towards declaring Colonial vessels unwelcome in Rheinland space and, as primary controllers of Omega 7, there is therefore little justification for us taking action against Colonial vessels sighted in that system.
With regard to Bretonia, our Armed Forces are currently in the process of negotiating an Armistace with the Colonials. This means that Colonial vessels are still unwelcome in Bretonia proper, though are highly unlikely to attack the ships of civilian trade corporations such as Gateway. The official Foreign Office advice would be that you are in no danger from the Colonial Remnant in Omega 7 or any other House-protected system outside of the Upper Taus or deep Omegas and that even then it is highly unlikely that they would threaten you.
Of course, should you find yourself harrassed, threatened or otherwise attacked by and Colonial vessels, please report the incident to the Foreign Office immediately.
