Nova's and their like - me_b_kevin - 08-21-2007 i've heard talk about this and wanted to discuss this with the rest of you some people think they are overused, what do you think? also, what could be done to balance them? 1. give them ammo? 2. increase their energy usage? etc. etc. do you even think they are unbalanced? please post your comments and keep the flames to a minimum Nova's and their like - Eppy - 08-21-2007 No, don't bother. They used to move faster than many guns, and they started using them in dogfights. They have since been dropped down to 2-300 mps. PLEASE, DON'T NERF IT ANY MORE. Novas are not being used parallel to their original design and make bombers way too powerful. Now, let me go put on my umpire mask before everyone starts slapping me... Nova's and their like - Eppy - 08-21-2007 The only way that's going to work is if we make it an explosive weapon that does 50-100 thousand damage, traveling at 100 m/s, that costs ten million a torpedo. Not pretty, but it's work. Nova's and their like - TankTarget - 08-21-2007 Actually... Novas, Minirazors, Infernos all need some changing! Damage for Minirazors and Infernos...is perfect. Whereas the the nova is WRONG... This is the list of what the weapons SHOULD be Nova: Damage, 10000 shield, 10000 Hull M/s 50 Energy usage: Whatever Inferno: 20000 shield, 2000 hull m/s 50 Energy: Whatever Minirazor: 20000 hull, 2000 shield m/s 50 Energy: Whatever Or in substitution for energy, throw in ammo for them. Making it impractical to spam them against fighters. Because right now the Nova next to the flak is THE best weapon. It can kill fighters in one hit, IN NO UNIVERSE should a fighter pilot be afraid of a bomber at all. It just shouldn't be. And no single bomber should be able to kill caps on its own. Also, bombers should not be able to toast gunboats. Gunboats should be the best anti bomber weapon around... And that is how it SHOULD be... We cannot afford to use LFs only... and I am the only active Scythe member, and we fly Eagles only against the RM. And they have everything. Meaning that using LFs would be NUTS.... So yeah, there is no way in hell that a nimble interceptor should be afraid of a anti capship torpedo.... Nova's and their like - ghostcat - 08-21-2007 That's why using a mixed variety of ships should be necessary. LFs to take care of Heavy fighters and bombers. Heavy fighters to take on Light fighters, other Heavies, bombers and (in groups) Gunboats. Bombers for Capitol ships. Well, a fighter SHOULD fear an anti ship missile, if they get hit with the thing. It shouldn't be possible to do so however. |
