I have been wondering about this the whole time. I have been bored at school countless times, and i am bored of playing Halo CE, Cs, and warcraft in class.
Well, is it possible to have Freelancer portable? I know games like Halo have been able to fit on the usb drive, and i have no doubt Fl will be able to since it is an old game and is not that big. I just dont know how to do it. Does anyone know how? or know if you can download the portable FL game?

You can simply drag and drop the Freelancer directory onto a USB drive and it will work. You won't be able to play multiplayer, however, since your account ID is kept in the registry.

Process is the same then. Just copy a clean install. Though again, multiplayer shouldn't work. Even if it did, your school's firewall might block it anyway.

You could always export the freelancer registries, copy them onto your USB stick and then import them onto your school computers so that you could try playing multiplayer. I'd say the registry would be protected in some way and the firewall would disallow freelancer though.

and if it works (MP) dont foget to delete die IDs after playing xD maybe another guy had the same idea and got your id then ^^

Well, I can't find the topic, but there were supposedly errors with registry or sumthin' like that. So, yeah, I think it's possible.

i just need to play single player lol, and I want vanilla. Well I had the had the usb freelancer with disco mod and it worked fine at school, but I want a vanilla copy. Well i had the vanilla and it asked for the cd rom, something the one with the disco mod didnt. How do i make it where it wont ask for the cd rom?

No-cd patch? Google it. Just replace the Freelancer.exe with whatever you find off google. I'm pretty sure Disco has a built in no-cd patch or something similiar.
