I was searching online for free music (creative commons) and I've found this band, it's called Ivilion from MagnaTune.com, and I don't know why it reminds me a LOT of Freelancer...

Maybe it's the game calling me back to play it?

Yep. It's Freelancer-ish..:)

Might be cool if it could be added to the game.

To my untrained ear the intro, is the freelancer music. Games are know to pay artists for half of an existing track. Actually come to think of it freelancer has never advertised the artist that has done the music. When a game pays an artist to make music/sound for them they go out of the way to credit said artist. (look to the C&C series as an example). I think Microsoft just paid for stuff from a big database somewhere. FL was running late and over budget in production after all.

They were ??

Anyway... why only half of the an existing track ??

it does sound freelandish, only the sounds used are a bit too loud, freelancer music sounds to me like its a neutral background sound, that doenst anoy, if i would have to listen too this music too long i will:)

I love the music in the first 2 C&C games, they were a bit agressive, sometimes i still play the music when im ingame (FL) it gets you on edge;)

Yeah that sounds heaps like fl

I just sent it to igiss

What would Igiss want with it? He is not going to be inculding it with the mod, because thats one of the 'hard-coded' things.

But yea, its pretty cool and eerie at the saem time. Nice find.

Sounds more Starlancer-ish to me.

You guys do realize you can have whatever music you want in FL. Just put it in the

Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/Data/Music

file, and it will play... Just make sure you name it the same as one of the tracks already in there.

I have loads of stuff. Try listening to Can't Touch This (MC Hammer) while flying around in a camera ship at 320 m/s.

CAN'T TOUCH THIS, BIATCH!

...

Verg, music is as hardcoded as systems.

Seriously, music is THE easiest thing to edit in FL. You just put your music in the FL music folder and then edit the music filenames for the things you want to change in the audio or System (depending on the music) folders. It's so easy, a caveman could do it.
