Guys,

Please learn at least some of the rules before you go off and buy all those guns and fighters and pretend to be police.

at level 40 you have to get an ID. if you haven't then you are in breach of one of the key rules of the server and if found by an Admin then nasty things may happen to you.

You know who you are but just in case no one else does, Judge, Tomahawk, Red-Sabre (I think) and their little gang of fighter jocks in Texas.

On a side note you really wanna pick your targets a bit more carefully too, some players have very powerful allies.

TEXAS !!

:angry:Seems I'll have to visit my home system again...

I think our problem here has to do with the fact that these people don't even read the forums and probably don't even know what an ID is...illiterate maybe? Besides ignorance does not grant mercy. Is there a way people can be forced to see the rules and the forum? I know it may seem totalitarian but maybe put a password on the server that can be found at the bottom of the rules list. I don't know...just my thoughts

Well, Caylith brought up the idea that you should have a set of rules placed in your cargo hold when you make a new character. Like how the Discovery gem is put there every time you make a new character. Thats one way to get them read.

New People - TankTarget - 08-31-2007

Yeah but DBoy, honestly. No one would read that, now if you put in bold letters at the top of the forums. READ RULES OR NO PASSWORD

Something like that. Give them the rules when they make a forums account, and throw on a rules quiz. That way we know for sure they've read the rules.

Well it would help wouldn't it? For what I've seen, the reason people don't know the rules is because they don't know the forums exist. (Ya, it gets sent through console like 20 times a day... But you gotta remember who were dealing with here)

Again, it won't fix all the problems. But I still think it would help.

New People - TankTarget - 08-31-2007

Fair enough it would help, and regardless of that we should put it there so that we can diffuse the eternal (I didn't know the rules LOL) argument. If we take all these steps the rules will be known to all... I hope.

I've seen this done before: Why don't we mod in a big billboard sitting outside of Manhattan with the forum URL and a list of the rules. That way it's impossible to miss.

New People - I_m_rdy - 08-31-2007

Maybe... or maybe not...

I just feel like I'm the only one who registered on the forums BEFORE logging into the server...

But I think the "Read Rules or no password" concept could really work.

New People - caylith - 08-31-2007

A set of rules in every new ship is a good way to put the rules in their face. That way, they cannot say they didn't know where they were. I'd even go so far as to up the punishments if they get the rules but refuse to read them. Ignorance is no excuse.

Passwording the server will turn many people off. We have a full server these days and i'd hate to see that go away because a password is needed. The admins are more present than ever and try to deal with these guys in game as much as possible.

Keep reporting these rule breakers and when we sanction them...they'll make their way to the forums pretty damn quick!
