After a little pestering, I was asked to dig up an old model I worked on and texture. So after many many many delightful hours of texturing, and then trying to get it to work in game with a CMP and Mat, I will put the finished model up.
Mainly because I think everyone has seen that half done version I passed around to the RM people, and I don't want everyone thinking thats how it was finished.

Well, it certainly does live up to Rheinland's but ugly scheme ;D

Don't take that the wrong way, it's a great model... I just think Schnitzelships look rather hideous:)

nice model and texturing...little too similar to cruiser, but that is not a flaw, it actually very reasonable to be similar....

i would only change texturing of the engine from where engine effect will be, there is usually a grill not green plates...

Definitely it fits the Rheinland theme:laugh:and I also agree that Rheinland's capital ships are very ugly. It is a very good model, dart! Congratz!

What is gonna be it's RP story?

I'm sorry but i really don't like it. its basically a puffy cruiser with huge pillars that fail to make any sense.

Good job on the textures, though.

Personally, I find this a piece of adorably marvelous work. A definitely matching and worthy addition to the Rheinland shipline, which I deem to be possessing artistically good-looking vessels.

Awesome. Just awesome. Rheinland demands more ships from you!

On a final note, I think it looks like a crossbreed between the BS and the cruiser, pretty much what we need. Great work, again.

I know we're not supposed to discuss whether or not a faction should get a ship or not, but none the less I find I have to repeat myself again and again. For once I wish people would get past the pretty looking models and saying "I'd by 5 lol" just because someone posts a pretty render for one moment and think about the reasoning behind the ship they're looking at.

The construction of a Rhienland Battlecruiser is completely contrary to Rhienland's military strategy.

It's true, and there are a number of reasons why. The first and foremost being that Rhienland has lost two consecutive wars because they relied on the strength of their Capital Fleet. The 80 year war was lost because the GMG used snubcraft to destroy them, and they lost the battles in the Nomad War of 800 A.S. because Liberty's capital fleet was superior to their own.

Rhienland's economy was crippled twice due to their losses in both these wars, and is still recovering. Now Rhienland is at war with Liberty again, and Liberty has far more resources and far more Capital Ships than Rhienland. Rhienland has learned from their past mistakes, and instead their military strategy relies on snubcraft, which is why the Fafnir was created. Rhienland knows they cannot defeat Liberty's overwhleming capital fleet with their own capital ships, it's simply a matter of lore.

So why in the name of Dom'Kavosh would Rhienland build a Battlecruiser now? It makes no sense what so ever. For one, Battleships easily outgun Battlecruisers, and two, Siege Cruisers are designed specifically to take out large, stationary targets. Now, Rhienland Battleships have enough shield strength and hull to tank a Siege Cruiser, but a battlecruiser does not. It's a big, floating target for Liberty's Siege Cruisers, lacks the thruster to chase them and get in range.

By creating Battlecruisers, Rhienland is wasting valuable resources on a ship that is easily bested by Liberty, for the price of one Battlecruiser you could build at least a dozen Fafnir. What's more dangerous to Liberty, a dozen Fafnir or one battlecruiser?

If you won't look at it from an RP perspective, look at it from a PvP persepective at least. Battlecruisers are the most useless Capital Ship class in the game. A Gunboat with two or three pulse cannons can easliy solo one, a Cruiser with Pulse and Mortars can solo one. The only thing a Battlecruiser can do is fight other Battlecruisers or be used to gank smaller craft.

One final time. We do not need a Rhienland Battlecruiser.

So, can you conjure up a terribly compelling reason that they should get one?
Note that "Liberty has one" or "I think they should." are not valid reasons. I'd like to see the Admiral of the RM's opinion on the concept of a Battlecruiser.

All I know is... if this model makes it into the game, I'm making a siege cruiser and pwning me some noobs :|

The model itself is exactly what it should be like, absolutly beautiful. Nothing I'd personally fly...

...But I have to agree with Nighthawk on this one. It's like... against everything the Rheinlanders should be doing...

Your post is very inappropriate here. It's also not your place to decided what ships get put in the game or not.
Please take your ranting somewhere else.

Looks cool, but i was expected little bs, not a big cruiser =) actually i like model of rm bs more then cruiser. But anyway looks pretty well.
