Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - sean24 - 04-01-2010 (disclaimer: This is just an idea im throwing out here, if it has terrible reception which im sure it will please bear in mind I am not trying to form this or anything right now so please refrain from potential flames and/or insults. If you are going to post- please read the entire post plz. That will be all, good night) A couple of days ago I thought of an idea for a faction called the anti-zoner syndicate. Its not far off what it sounds like really- A bunch of people opposed to Zoners, or more the power of Zoners. Goals: -To limit the power of the Zoners. (not complete annihilation or genocide god no) -Enlighten the people of Sirius to the threat of the Zoners. -Infiltrate and spy on Zoner activities. Here is a more in depth deffinition of the above goals. 'Limiting the power of the Zoners' basicly means that this syndicate wants to remove the more militaristic entities of the Zoners- such as the Jinkusu and other Zoner capitals from Sirius. The syndicate is not outwardly opposed to Zoner merchants and traders. 'Enlightening the people of Sirius' means spreading propaganda against the Zoners around public places. Like a revolutionary group. 'Spying on Zoners'- they could RP like sneaking on Freeports and getting 'evidence' of Zoner invasion plans which are actually fakes and cool stuff like that. Origin: The origin of most of the people in this group would be mostly from trade groups, government service, and the Zoners themselves. They are not pirates- or were pirates. They are not doing it for the money. Ships: In terms of ships they would fly....id say civilian. Border worlds ships are too outcast, pirate, merc if you catch my drift. I was thinking it would be cool if they flew mostly Mafics and Rocs. No caps. Diplomacy: Hostile to Zoners. Neutral/self defence to House police/militarys. Neutral/self defence towards Outcasts. Unfriendly towards the Corsairs, Order. Operation areas: Anywhere were there is a large amount of Zoners (so not Liberty and the Houses except for spreading anti zoner propoganda) and Zoner bases. Amagine this, a faction of bomber and fighters sneaking around sirius trying to turn people against the Zoners and take out their larger ships. Running on philosophys like "If they are friendly with everyone, why do they need heavy morters?" and making up lies about "massive zoner invasion plans on the houses"... A faction that is polite and respectfull to law enforcement forces (which see them as hostile probably) and only fights them in self defence saying "listen to me! We are not the enemy!"... So if you are thinking this would be a facshun lolwutting and killing Zoners for teh L0lz because PVP Z0n3r is cool OLOLOlrofl youd be wrong. So, in conclusion: What do you think? What is your opinion? If everyone hates it yo ill just delete it from me brain. But if most people like it I might consider pursuing it further. The Houses already distrust us enough to ban our Guards and Whales from their bases, and... The Gallians just want us dead. I'm afraid you'd have to stand in line, sir. If you were to broaden their ideas of "violent pacification" to include all diplomatic forces in Sirius, I'd be interested. Actually, if you don't create some sort of continuance of this idea, I will. Eventually. Edit@Mal's Response: Yeah, the Zoners do kinda take enough flak as it is... Hunting them Sirius wide wouldn't be the best idea. Maybe restrict your Zoner hate to specific areas of Sirius? Or ignore the Zoners, focus on the Houses, and act as a diplomatic terrorist organization? Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - sean24 - 04-01-2010 Thanks for the feedback so far, not even a spark. @Malaclypse: Those factions may have their problems with the Zoners, want them dead and stuff. But they dont really attack the Zoners or put them in disrepute. In other words- this faction would cut the line :) @Gauss: I like your idea of a 'pacification' group against militarys. But I think its too much of a broad aim, with not enough arguments against it. Like...RH BS are a peacekeeping force to protect civilians, cant really argue with that :laugh: Zoners on the other hand are not really a peacekeeping force. They are a group that has too much power...and they need to be stopped...before it is too late... Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - Mounteblanc - 04-01-2010 Well, that was sort of my point. The eradication of House Military powers through propaganda. Remember, "pacifistic" terrorists don't need rational ideas, therefor their media contact with the people will be based primarily around the manipulation of existing data. Even if it makes perfect sense, like the protection of civilians by a RH BS, with certain pieces of data provided within certain contexts that peacekeeping BS can be made into the image of a threatening monster, whose end purposes are certainly not beneficiary for the citizens of Rheinland. Well, I'll put something together... It'll probably take a while, though. Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - sovereign - 04-01-2010 I've had a few ideas for a rather militant "peacekeeper" organization, though it was rather spiritual and based on principles quite far from straightforward. If the vigilante ID let me hit Zoners (being people who give off the impression that strict government is not necessary, and thus a nasty counterexample to any propaganda) I'd probably have tried it for awhile, see how it went, but alas, that ID is quite useless. Eh, specifically hitting Zoners seems unnecessary with the withdrawal of their stuff from house space. I could see this during 4.84 when everyone and their dog was a Zoner just to claim pirate/diplomatic immunity while they powertraded or farmed NPCs above populated planets in their Battlestars... but now, I don't think there's a point. People finally did start hitting the Zoners, so it's not like they lack enemies, even though the list is lighter than most. Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - EisenSeele - 04-01-2010 This group could be comprised of a combination of various intelligence groups within the four houses :/ no doubt they'd have both the means and the motive to seek to investigate, infiltrate, and undercut the progress of the Zoners seeing how most houses deem the Zoners to be a growing threat to the balance of power. [lol] Blame zoners for NWO concpirasy! oh:unsure:NSO here [/lol] Anti Zoner Syndicate (updates on page 8) - Jinx - 04-01-2010 afraid that its as much against the game lore as an outcast faction promoting the friendship between corsairs and outcasts. sometimes - there are variables that players might not like, but should not be allowed to budge ( too much ). some of the main characteristics or outcasts for example are: - be mortal enemies to the corsairs - be addicted to cardamine some of the main characteristics of zoners are: - be politically neutral to everyone - be a faction running "freeports" throughout the habitated space of sirius a logical thought would be: "why cannot the corsairs and outcasts, being of a similar origin, bend together and TAKE the inner sphere systems - it could and probably would benefit both of them not only to a small margin but greatly" at the same time one might ask "how can zoners still be neutral to everyone when they run such a vast military" an answer is: - zoners can be neutral, cause people do not know too much about the military - and/or the military is not as vast at all. after all, no one would assume that the liberty navy only consists of the ships we see. - we roleplay that what the players represent is but the tip of the iceberg. - at the same time.... why can zoners not roleplay that what we see is actually all there is? - that would mean that the zoner military is actually very small and rare. - people do not know about zoner warships at all! - how so you ask.... they fly around everywhere!!! - but think again...... the jumphole to gamma is secret only known to a handful of zoners at fp9, the BHG - and corsairs.... yet the whole server knows about its location. - should we still consider it a secret? zone 21 is secret! - no one knows about it, nor about alaska. those that know about it are ghosts or become ghosts soon. - yet the whole server knows about it. we roleplay such things even if playerknowledge tells us differently. zoner warships are hidden in RP - is it harder to RP them to be hidden than to RP zone 21 to be hidden? - yes, they do pvp, yes they do appear and travel around.... but one should RP them to be non-existant ( which can be hard / impossible at times ) there imagination clashes with reality.... but zoners are not the only faction that suffers from this. the problem i have with the suggestion is that its basis is experience gathered not in RP - but from players about players. if we hold up the lore about a faction, almost no one knows about a juggernaut at all, and less people have seen one. - the fearless is classified a heavy edgeworld supply ship ( rather a transport officially ) - the corvo is a long range explorer / researcher - classified civilian, the conference is classified an armoured transport mk2 - and we wouldn t mark the armoured transport mk1 "military" as it is a medium transport for longer ranges. - zoners produce only below military standard fighters - and produce only below average standard weapons. - that is the lore. Less "lore" and more "roleplay," if we will. Not saying I'm in favour of this faction, I'm saying I'm not in favour of the spirit of some of the responses to it. |
