in the rules it says no pirating crusiers or battleships...
i know you arent allowed to pirate in a DS, but someone who does not wish to be known does not believe me...
so whats the consensus guys?

Anything bigger than a gunboat is right out. Destroyers are much bigger than gunboats.
Geeze, if you want to look for a loophole to exploit, try a little harder.

i know exactly who it is also and i questioned that myself when my trader got taken out. good to know that i wasn't crazy for thinking it's wrong. i've seen the same pirate with a faction pal....both in destroyers :nono:

The ONLY time you can attack a transport with a destroyer, battlecruiser, cruiser, or battleship, is if your in a player faction hostile to the player faction the transport belongs to. (Example is BSG and AW. We are hostile, so I could shoot their transports with the Ableben, my Juggernaut. I found this out when I checked rles after I sent a group of the AW fighters to track it down and destroy it after it went through Theta. Ends up, I could have killed with with my BS, and saved us the trouble of hunting..)
If the transport is NOT part of a player faction, there is no situation where you can simply blow them up. EXCEPT, maybe, if they are a part of a hostile NPC faction to you (Wraiths benig Bundschuh could possibly attack any Republican Shipping IDd transports, because the NPC factions are hostile). This I gathered from rules as well, but could potentionally be wrong.

hmmm we may be thinking of different people then as the person i was refering to wouldn't give up that easy... or would they?
so basically anything bigger than a bomber is unacceptable?
