What faction did you have in mind when you were designing it?

I'm experiencing some faint bretonian and junker vibes over here.

I didn't really have any faction in mind, but i do feel sort of inclined to a civilian or bretonian ship.

yeh, totally paladin-hussar merge

Just a note, the ship is loosely based off of this:

From Freespace 2.

With the proper rusty pain it could be the next Junker scrap vessle. It reminds me of a small cargo hold with 4 attached Engines.

Looks like a Bretonian vessel alright. Quite a nice model if I may say so.
A few tips though.

1) Don't use milkshape to model, you can work far better with another program and just import it over.

2) Avoid using actual cylinders in your model. An optimised cylinder would actually maybe have 8 sides at most. Or so.

And this is just a nitpicky thing buttttt I doubt this is a ship submission just yet (Still needs texturing, hardpointing and hitboxing) so can it be moved just to the developers forum instead of ship submissions?

Oyep. Wasn't quite sure where to post it.
As for modeling programs, as soon as i can buy 3DSMax i will, but currently i am somewhat broke. I could pirate it, but my download speed is at an all-time low of 4 KB/s, so until i have 3DSMax, i'm stuck with milkshape. Do not try to tell me otherwise:P

I'd like to suggest two things:

Firstly, before you start modelling a ship, you should ask yourself which faction you want to build a ship for, and which purpose will your ship fill. Maybe even draw some concept pictures. It helps keep the ships looking consistant with existing Freelancer ship lines.

Secondly:

OMG MODELLING IN MILKSHAPE?!

BURN IT! BURN IT!

Milkshape is a horrible program. Avoid it like the plague. Unfortunately it's the only program we have that exports to CMP so we're forced to use it at some point, but modelling and texturing should be done with some of the better programs out there, like 3DS Max if you can get your hands on a copy, legally or otherwise. Otherwise there's always many others like Metasequoia, hell even Gmax. Just don't use Milkshape!
