CREW ROSTER
Tau-37 System

Joshua Newman sat behind the control center of the Pilgrim Liner. It's walls were rusted, most of the cells hardly functioned correctly anymore and the only way to keep the slaves under control was to beat them senseless so that they wouldn't try anything stupid, like try to escape the cells. Newman didn't enjoy just purchasing them from prison stations or criminal empires, no. He enjoyed the hunt, the feeling of flying up on a small fighter with the Delusion and taking the people from their ships.

Some called him crazy for enjoying the screams of the people he stole from their ships. Most just said he enjoyed the credits he got from selling them to certain parties, mostly the Outcasts in Omicron Alpha. But only Newman knew the truth behind why he enjoyed it. He enjoyed the feeling of blasting these ships with the turrets on the Pilgrim and watching the escape pods jettison, the pilots hoping to be saved...but all they would be was Cardamine addicted slaves working on Malta for years to come.

The liner jumped through into Tau-23 and continued on his path towards the new Coronado system. The system had nothing in it, but it was a good shortcut nonetheless into Liberty and back down into Texas where his informant at the prison was. He always cut Newman a good deal on slaves there, and people had been avoiding the Delusion lately, hearing of it's merciless attacks on small convoys.

A ship appeared on scanners, a small civilian ship. Scans indicated it had three lifeforms on board. Two adults, one child. Newman grinned and aimed the ship for the small helpless ship. Out of the jump-hole behind the small ship came two Dragons, way out of their area of operations.

"Get out of here, Dragon. This is my kill." Newman said with a laugh and fired a cruise disruptor at the small fleeing ship. The cruise engines shut down as the ship began to struggle to get away with it's thrusters.

"You disgust me, slaver. They are the targets of the Dragons. Cease your attack or we'll reduce your ship to scrap, more so than it already is."

Newman snarled and aimed the turrets at the Dragons, ripping into the ship at the lead and quickly destroying it. The remaining Dragon scrambled as Newman tractored in the smartass woman whom had spoken to him with such distain. He laughed. He would have fun with her. He returned his attention to the small fleeing fighter and opened fire on it's engines, quickly disabling their usage. The ship's thruster exploded in a fireball and it's engines flickered out of use. Joshua leaned close to the transmitter and spoke.

"My name is Joshua Newman, fighter, and you are now the newest guests on the Delusion."

After that, Newman began to laugh as he heard the screams of the Dragon woman he had just captured, the sound of her struggles reaching the CIC on the Liner.

Joshua laughed hard.

Joshua got up from his console and walked slowly back to the back where the small Dragon woman hung bound by her arms to either side of the cell, her arm's outstretched. She glared at Newman as he paced around the cell starting at her with a smile. He stopped in front of her with his hands in his pockets.

"The Dragons will hunt you down, Newman." she spat. Newman began to laugh.

"They already are my dear. You of all people should know that. I took several of your people already and turned them into profit. Outcasts these days will take any slave they can get, regardless of their previous affiliation."

"I am a Dra--"

Joshua reached out and backhanded the woman across the face. She spit out blood on the floor and turned back to face him with a deviant glare.

"You're not a Dragon anymore my dear." he said reaching up to feel her face. "You are my slave to do with what I wish...and I think I'll have a little fun." Newman reached up and unzipped the top of her flight suit, the woman began struggling and screaming, Joshua only laughed as he ripped the entire top part off and threw it aside, leaving her in a white tank top. "Mmmm. This looks tasty." he said with a laugh and ripped off the tank top as well.

Her screams filled the entire cell block as he ravaged her again, and again, and again. Within a few hours, her screams became little more than withered sobs every hit as he continued to have his way with her. He had taken her chains off and she lay on the ground naked, sitting, and leaning against a wall. Joshua laughed and pulled his pants back up buttoning them. "Don't be so sad, dear...you weren't half bad...better than most." The woman didn't answer, she only cried looking down, her eyes red from excessive crying. He reached down and pulled her chin up to look into her face. He smiled and she only cried, her defiance long gone after he turned her into little more than a dog.

"You know, you're very pretty...I think I just might keep you as my personal toy. I might even get you a collar and a leash."

"Sir." said one of the crew who had walked up behind Newman. "The family we captured has been separated; the young girl is by herself in a separate room just as always. The father was defiant so I had to beat him, but he's not responding now, I may have killed him."

Newman looked back and nodded fastening the last button his pants, leaving the Dragon woman to sob in the corner.

"How bad is he, will he still sell at Malta?" Newman asked.

"He'll sell if he survives, the Outcasts won't pay full price."

"He had it coming, if he sells, at least we'll get something out of him. If not we'll let the doctor have him for his experiments. You know how he likes his experiments..."

Joshua looked back to the Dragon woman in the cell; she was clawing for her clothes, trying to cover her naked body. Joshua smiled and looked to his crew member who was watching her every move.

"Your turn if you like." Joshua said laughing. "She was pretty good."

The crew member licked his lips and entered the cell. "We're not done yet, my sweet." he said with a laugh. As Newman walked away from the cell, he heard her scream again. Newman laughed...

...oh how he laughed.

Newman walked down to the holding cells slowly and admired the walls of the ship as he went. They were rusted, falling over, or non-existent, but the Delusion flew on in the silence of space, towards its goal of Sugarland. They were only one system away in California now and had since gone radio silent to avoid detection by the long range scanners of the capital ships.

He walked to the door of holding cell A and paused just outside the door, looking through the window and seeing the young teen girl sitting bound to the chair she was sitting at. She struggled every once and a while, trying to get loose. Each time she failed and screamed in frustration. Joshua smiled and laughed as he kicked in the door loudly. She went rigid and stopped moving completely as he did.

"Hello, my sweet." he said with a laugh and slammed the large metal door shut. The echo of the door hitting metal made her jump again. Joshua walked by the small framed girl and ran his finger from her lower back up to the top of her neck. She shuddered at the touch. "So young...so innocent. If I hadn't already had my fun for the day..." he said leaning into her neck and taking a long sniff. "...we would be having fun right now...but that foolish dragon woman who tried to save you got her serving of 'man' for the day and is still getting some now."

"Where are my parents you bastard?" she said.

"Oh, dear, such a dirty mouth." he said smacking her across the face. She sobbed and then started crying. Joshua only laughed and lifted her chin to look into her eyes. "You can save your parents you know my dear."

"H-how?" she said sobbing.

"You work for me, and your parents will yet live...but you can never see them."

The small girl sobbed once, then twice, and then burst into tears, crying in the chair, still bound. Newman licked his lips and walked around to the back of the chair and ran his finger across her back again. Newman wasn't one to ravage teens, but this girl was arousing him...she couldn't have been a day under 16. Her crying slowly turned into laughter and she looked up to Newman.

"You're lying." she said through fits of laughter.

Newman lost his smile and replaced it with a snarl.

"You're calling me a liar. That's brave girl, but laughing at me is even more brave." he replied.

"We're on a Pilgrim Liner, also known as a Slave Liner. This one is called the 'Delusion'. It's been terrorizing ships in Liberty and other houses for years..."

That's not right...she was--

"...and since you picked up our escape pod, it has been tracking your movements through house space, you --sick-- f***."

Newman panicked. He grabbed the receiver off the wall and barely picked it up before the small girl came out of nowhere with the chair, hitting Newman and shattering it over his upper back.

His vision went to black.
