suggestion - Veronee - 04-20-2010 Currently the system is well. In my honest opinion flawed. You are promoted into the guard after you have done what? 60 normal missions? Does anyone accept me see a fault with this? How does this make you a special envoy of your faction? So you helped them out a bit, killed a few of their enemies but this hardly makes you a fantastic pilot worthy of such an honor surely? So. As a revision to this wouldn't it make more sense to implement really difficult -group- orintated missions? Going into the heart of your enemies territory on a sabotage mission? To give an example. BAF pilot john wants to join the guard So john goes to his guard base or system to get a mission. The mission is to go DEEP behind enemy lines and blow up a battleship that is under construction in Kusari in a hidden location. Hmm.. Difficulty is very high. John needs to find someone to help him. So he rounds up a few of his friends. Some in bombers and a few fighters. They goto the location. Well.. Seems the intel was faulty. There are only some forward scouts. When they kill 2 of them the 3rd one gaps it. They follow him. They come to an area that seems like a construction supply depot. Their is a station, some missile turrets, a couple gunboats and two destroyers. They fight. After smashing most of the force it retreats. Well seems the intel was faulty cause that battleship is online and functioning. As are the two destroyers and 5 gunboats. They attack. They need to kill all the forces in the area. They manage to do this. They are then required to drop off the battleships crew at the GC base nearby (the crew won't fit in a gunboat but takes 1000 units of space so they need a lil logistics). Once that's done they get a reward for *gasp* 30 000 000! If this was done by 5 players it should be the equivalent reward of if they were traders for the time. And BOOM we have a new way of making money that encourages RP! Not to mention in the above that players could run into enemy players while this is going. Another example would be liberty rouges. While their area of operations is smaller they could intercept a prison transport to recover their pilots at a tradelane in NY. Then they need to deliver the pilots to a faraway system on a zoner base (note this is an example. It could be a remote hessian or molly base) to lay low for a while. They could also have to go attack something in the bounty hunters base to recover their pilots. Your thoughts? suggestion - hribek - 04-20-2010 New mission types are beyond our capabilities at the moment. Current mission types with properly balanced NPC ship types & loadouts and adequate payouts are, however. You can help this somewhat by posting in the mission feedback thread. suggestion - Mr.Fabulous - 04-20-2010 It doesn't look that hard... all you'd need to do is tweek those "faulty-intel" missions with having a shipyard and a group of capitals surrounding it, then viola! Not much need to take the crew members... you could just leave them to float? :P |
