Has this type of thing been discussed?
Search says no, but just in case, no hard feelings for accidental rehashing.

But yeah, corkboards / public listings available at all bases?

Idea 1:
Something along the lines of postable and readable messages to fill up the "news" section of the bar.
It could function as a place to post bounties, recent faction development, or just a bit of "hello/etc."

This goes along the lines of the in-game advertising thread being discussed, though might be an easier thing to add.

Of course, I'm not totally sure how we could implement something like this, perhaps flhook something like /post {message...} when docked at a base. It'll auto limit messages to reasonable little bits anyhow. Make it cost 500k or something like that to avoid spam.

Idea 2:
A way to call/view which other ships (characters) are presently docked (logged in OR logged out) on a base. I suppose using the same search functions /fm and /fi use, but for location rather than name.

Something like /others while docked would print:

Code:
Other ships located at {base/planet}:
-This guy
-That guy
-The other guy
-Some guy
-Some other guy
-[Admin]Agmen's.Contest

Seems like if you were at Planet Manhattan, you would be able to know who else is there/parked there.
Useful for police and bounty hunters, and also just something to make the game more interesting if not flooded with info.

My limited brainpower is burgeoning.
Thoughts?

ZOMG METAGAEMER

Nah, I'm only messing with you. It'd be nice to have something else on the board other than news that get updated in God knows how long.
