two non public ships - JIVA - 04-25-2010 1. ) these ships were made on request 2. ) they are non public ships 3. ) they are not meant to fit into any faction scheme a venator replace a thor mk2 replace a ship to be an admins yacht ( based on the normal yacht of course - just a little sleeker ) now i m not really sure why the thor mk2 needs a replace but it was asked for it. - the venator is a republic cruiser from star wars - the clone wars... and its obvious that it doesn t fit in ( even if its a lovely model ) the venator replace is a mesh i experimented with a little - since its only an admins toy, it ll have a quad forward cannon array. the thor mk2 replace i thought of looks more like a sleek liberty fighter - since it fits better than a hessian design i think. - besides it shares a few elements with the ( possible ) angel guideship ( in case i find the time to hitbox that ) no more thoughts gone into both. again - as i said, the normal player won t be affected by it, nor bothered by them. - they just replace NON-public ships. edit: well - the venator shares elements found in the zoner juggy. but in a "crude" form. it was meant to be a battlestar II replace first ( which is - at least in the little bit of logical lore we applied there - some sort of remains of aliens ) - its of course also a lot smaller than the venator. so if an admin really WANTS to fly it for the kicks - he can at least fly it a little more relaxed. two non public ships - Death.RunningVerminator - 04-25-2010 Well if it was made on request, then does that mean someone plans to use these in Freelancer? Cause they don't look Freelancerish in my opinion.. but very well done indeed. two non public ships - Wo3dy - 04-25-2010 you could make the first one freelancish with the right texture. and both nicely done, two non public ships - Ebon - 04-25-2010 Second looks like perfect for Angels:) two non public ships - Sebastian Wolfe - 04-25-2010 First one looks pretty damn awesome. Second one, not so much. Although, that's only my personal aesthetic taste. Both models are very well done indeed, and with the right textures would be welcome in FL. If the second one isn't accepted by the Angels, I'm sure the Phantoms would love it. two non public ships - Denelo - 04-26-2010 They're both admin ships, people. Also, Jinx, I must say... the second one honestly looks fairly awful. Like... a stretched-out Executioner or something. Venator replace looks great. Possibly a bit stretched looking due to its wideness, but nothing major. two non public ships - Sprolf - 04-26-2010 Knowing how many polygons your usual models have... I'd really hate to be in the system that Venator replacement is in. two non public ships - Korolia - 04-26-2010 I think we should approach the Thor mk II in a completely different approach by renaming it, and hence, get a new philosophy of design behind it. Seriously, why would admin fly pseudo advanced RHA ship anyway? Should aim for a more neutral background. two non public ships - DartStriker - 04-26-2010 Yeah, the bottom ship does have a right feel to it. I don't know I can't place it. I just don't like the design aspects maybe. The top ship looks real solid, but I'm going to put a guess in here and say that thing has almost 20k polys on it. two non public ships - sovereign - 04-26-2010 The Venator replace is a quality model, but I'm not sold on either of them. I sorta figured that an admin craft would be something awe-inspiring or terrifying- their vessels should look like they're the avatars of forces beyond comprehension. Ethereal and forbidding, not simple metal and plastic. You can do that, you made the Angel vessel and you've made a fair few "alien" looking ships. These ships should not resemble human craft so much as they resemble abstract concepts, as much as that's possible. Keep at it. |
