Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Zeb Harley - 04-27-2010 I don't like advertisements much. In fact that is the reason for me not to have a TV (apart from the shamelessly shallow program). Now it's noticable that the more professional work goes into avatars and signatures the more they begin to resemble certain internet flash-ads. So I have to do something before I am developing a hate against catgirls, certain celebrities and mangas in general (all of which I formerly found to be at least interesting, if not delighting, to look at). For my Firefox I found AdBlock Plus and AdChange to not only get rid of the annoyance but replace the ads with random eye-calming images downloaded from the internet. I am interested if anyone has the same problem with them as I do? How did you cope with that. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Birdtalon - 04-27-2010 Lolwut? FIX CRUISE FIX CRUISE Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Cawdor - 04-27-2010 I hate animated sigs. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Birdtalon - 04-27-2010 Animated sigs are awesome. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Magoo! - 04-28-2010 Well... I hate the anime sigs and avatars if that's what this thread is referring to, but people displaying fandom is hardly an advertisement. Although I do agree, seeing 36D's or girls with body-covering fur that is both soft and pleasant compared to the real life alternative on drawn pictures as an off-hand testament to the community's fetishistic behavior is really annoying. No problems from Taylor Swift though. Felix can flaunt her as much as he likes. At least she's an enjoyable media to entertain oneself with. Some of them are rather annoying, but mine isnt really flashy and it's got nice mellow colors =P Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Sprolf - 04-28-2010 Wait, so Taylor Swift rates higher than catgirls? I put them both very low, but Taylor Swift even lower. Paddy, I thought better of you than this. It's disgraceful. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Mr.Fabulous - 04-28-2010 I may be the only one in total support of the sig and avatar. Some are flashy, yes. and the ones I hate the most are those that are extremely bad. But most are pretty awesome, and are paintings in themselves. I love it whenever I come to look at someone's sig and it plays a ballet of soft hues or hardcore chaos on my eyes. some are downright funny! (proof of point? Titan's avatar) Overall, I like them, but I say "meh" to those that are very bad-quality, and only serve to waste space. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - Magoo! - 04-28-2010 Hey, her music is decent. At least it's not like all the crap that artists throw out today. Namely the fact that all bands nowadays are: Guitarist Bassist Drummer Vocals And it's "Drums, drums, drums, vocals, vocals, vocals," and once the chorus rolls around: "CHORUS... CHORRRUUSSSS... CHORRUS!" with the idiot in the background grinding the guitar in a disgusting, indistinguishable mash of bi-tonal rubbish. The lyrics are usually good, but the instruments are just a courtesy. At least in America. To my non-American brethren. Ad-like and flashing avatars and signatures - mwerte - 04-28-2010 I hate animated sigs, cause I can't make them. :( |
