Disc is broken - Revan - 04-30-2010

So I found out my freelancer disc will no longer install things due to a scratch, if their is any way someone can tell me how to re-burn the disc by taking the files off the scratched one to the new one.

Buy a new one.

"if their is any way someone can tell me how to re-burn the disc by taking the files off the scratched one to the new one."

Dude, if that was true, companies wouldn't make money.

Perhaps try a scratch removal tool for cd/dvd's. They sometimes work and they're only 20-40 US dollars.

Eh good luck, I've tried it atleast 60 times, imagine how much that may be, over the past few years, I give up, try again.

To me, just something to get people to spend money.

EDIT: Well, one worked once, only to completely stop working after 5 minutes.

Most dedicated game stores have in store scratch repair machines, that are usually relatively cheap. a few bucks, and it buffs down the disc to remove the scratches. Depending on how nice the person is, they'll only charge you if it works, no matter how many times you put it through.

If they're charging by the buff, only to it once or twice. Might as well find a cheap copy on EBay or sommat at that point.

I could always advise some potentially illicit answers.

But, really, buying a new CD can be cheaper. And, well, if the disk is unreadable, it should be impossible to burn it. Otherwise, go with option one.

I was under the impression that these things were not to be directly spoken of.

To stay on the safe side, get a new disk cheap off the internet.

FL is going for super cheap nowadays. I had to re-buy it, found it for $10 on Ebay.

I could have gotten it for 10 USD at my local Target at one point. If Amazon is any indication, I'd say you could get it cheap.

If I recall correctly, it is legal for you to get a virtual copy (in the form of the game's CD image, for example) if you own the original game on CD...
