The BHG bomber is extremely light. It has a thin profile, and pretty great turning.

That said, this isn't a "IT'S TOO GOOD AGAINST FIGHTERS Q_Q" thread.

That thin profile and awesome turning means that it lacks a good plant. Whose bright idea was this? Step back and think for a moment, who do the BHG fight most often?

Order, Corsairs, Outcasts. In about that order. All of these factions are rather cap heavy, and the BHG line really isn't made for duking it out with other caps. To top it all off, their bomber doesn't do the job either.

I propose we either give the BHG a second, very heavy bomber, about on par with the Fafnir (Preferable) or redo the stats on the current one (Would be odd considering the model).

Flame away.

It's got the same powerplant as every other light bomber in the game, including the roc and the nomad bomber.

I have no problems shoving supernovas up the tailpipe of lolwutting capspammers with my nomad bomber, nor with my BHG bomber.

I fail to see the problem.

Copied from your borked thread.

EDIT:

Besides, you claim to want a 'heavy' bomber - something like the fafnir - because you want something that will kill capships better. Honestly, the heavy bombers are more susceptible to being killed by escorts than any of the light bombers.

As a bomber pilot, you shouldnt be worried about the capship killing you - most capships have horrid point defense and cant hit anything smaller than a gunboat. What kills you - or at least, makes your job difficult - is enemy fighters protecting that capship. Light bombers can avoid fighters very well, I can dodge 3-4 fighters almost indefinitely using most light bombers in this mod, but heavy bombers like the challenger, barghest, fafnir, so on and so forth get torn to shreds by those same opponents.

You also seem to forget mentioning that, despite being very thin, very agile, and very capable of dodging enemy fire, the BHG bomber has an additional forward gun hardpoint over any other bomber in the mod.

Fafnir = kill Liberty Caps
Barghest = kill Liberty Caps

Perfectly logical for the Bounty Hunters to have something heavy to kill Legate/Sarissa/Ranseur swarms.

The BHG Bomber is a beast if you know how to fly it, for example, it may have the light bomber powerplant, but with its increased agility (its one of the most agile light bombers IIRC) and small profile, you become pretty much unhittable against caps when dodging. Meaning that if you see a few BHG|Moray tagged ships, you can be sure some Ossies are going to go down:P

As for a heavy bomber, i dont think the BHG would realy need one, afterall the whole BHG line is based around speed over armour (except the BC).

Even their BC is, when you consider that both of the other true battlecruisers in the game (the liberty assault battlecruiser and the IMG battlecruiser) have no thruster.

I never said it wasn't a beast, the thing is awesome. It just doesn't make much sense.

It makes perfect sense.

The BHG's primary opponent is -not- the order, it's pirates. The entire faction is based around hunting down and killing pirates in the houses for monetary reward. The only reason the core and the bhg-order war exists is as a side fling so that the BHG can acquire better technology to fulfill bounties with.

Pirates do not fly anything over gunboat size. When you're trying to kill a gunboat, you're better off using a bomber that can more easily avoid it's fire, and doesnt necessarily need a huge powercore.

How so?

Its powerful (BHG ships are meant to be technologically advanced), and its light (like the BHG shipline). A heavy bomber would just look completely out of place amongst the BHG ships IMO. And to be honest, we dont need one, 2 BHG bombers can take down an Osiris or Geb just as well as 2 Fafnirs could, probably better given their agility.

Edit: @Tena, thats not the reason we are after the Order/Nomads, the Core is far more sinister than it appears.

BHG Bomber - Durandal - 05-24-2010

@Tena: In theory.

It's not what happens in practice.

BHG Bomber - Prysin - 05-24-2010

fafnir vs trident = barge vs osiris

BHG bomber, suck, imo.... but then again, im the one with a BHG upholder.
