Atonement - Wolfs Ghost - 05-31-2010

Planet Curacao

He stood staring out at the sunset. Sighing lightly to himself. He had a decision to make, a tough decision, though not as tough as the one he had came to resent. He was a fugitive from the good of Bretonia. The people hated him, a few he knew still cared for him, but now that he wasn't sure that even mattered. His friends had disappeared in Rheinland, and he knew something was up.

He decided to run, and he ran. He ran right to Curacao a Orbital Spa and Cruise resort. The place he was staying at nearly drained him of all his credits, but it didn't matter. It didn't matter anymore. He told himself, she was dead and there was no hope on continuing his search. Admiral Hobart was right about him being a fool. This entire quest was in vane, and it was foolish to even run from that court marital.

Now, however, none of it mattered anymore. His decision was set the moment he turned back to his Templar. He took a deep breath and proceeded to climb in.

Battleship Norfolk - Hangar Bay

He flipped off the communications and sighed heavily looking out of the cockpit to see a group of armed guards making their way to his ship. He twisted in the chair slightly and kicked open the hatch, holstering his pistol afterwards and climbed out.

Dropping down from the ship, he landed kneeling, then he stood straight up placing his hand on the pistol, and pulling it out from his holster. The guards raised their rifles, "Drop the weapon!" One shouted. He let it drop to the ground and kicked it over to the guards.

"Austin Goodman, you're under arrest. You should know the charges." The guard snapped, lowering his rifle and walking quickly over to him.

He felt a sharp pain, and soon noticed he was laying on the floor. His head being pushed against the cold hangar flooring. "Easy now lad." He managed to mumble, and only after he finished mumbling felt himself get jerked back up onto his feet.

"The Prisoner is secured, we're moving him to the brig now."

"I would prefer to be called Austin instead of the prisoner."

Norfolk - Brig Cell 63

An alarm buzzed, a metal cell door screeched as it slide open, and the sound of handcuffs clicking off..

The sounds were very familiar. He heard it a few times in his past, though the rooms were slightly different. The door slide shut behind him, locking.

He sighed lightly as he stumbled over to the hard mattress and collapsed on it. Looking up at the ceiling he sighed heavily. It was the right decision, he couldn't go on living a life of a fugitive, and he knew in his heart somewhere down the line he would, hopefully, be released.

His charges? He forgot why he was originally charged. It's been months, and the depressing thought of Ashley Taylor being dead was on his mind. He let out another sigh and rolled over towards the wall. It's been five months since he was declared a fugitive. He kept his promise on coming back and fighting for the crown when they needed it, but still, the charges laid heavily against him. All he knew, was that he was finally home, and the two people that came with him are either in trouble, or dead. The guilt he carried, swallowed him whole.

"You're that guy that saved the Prime Minister, yeah I recognize your face."

The voice was masculine, rough, and sounded a bit Hispanic. Apparently, he hadn't heard the cell door screech open some two hours into him passing out, then slamming shut, and apparently he was sharing the cell with someone. He turned slightly from the wall to see a rather large, battered, man standing above him. "And you're also in my bed lad." The man said, smiling lightly.

He glanced up at the man towering over him and scrambled to his feet, slamming his back into the wall behind him. "Here I thought this cell was empty."

The brute of a man smiled lightly again, "It's a temporary holding cell until they can move us to Newgate. And don't worry, it's not like I killed a puny man like you before." The mans smile turned slightly, and it disgusted Austin quite a bit. He was in a holding cell with a killer. Although Austin's crimes were huge, they weren't as huge as being placed in this cell with this type of person. He thoguht he must have pissed off someone higher up, and at this small frame of moment in his life, was wishing he didn't.

His head pounded with a headache that was setting in. The man continued to tower over him, apparently savioring the moment he came to know so very well before he killed his quarry, letting them get that last bit of fear before he pulled the trigger.

Austin took a deep breath and slowly moved himself off the wall, sliding out of the mans way to his right. "You're in here because you killed a man aren't you."

The brute nodded.

"Well. I've killed more than one man, with my bare hands." Austin said, finally out of the brutes way, near the door. He wasn't bluffing as far as killing someone goes, he did kill two people that tried to attack him in his place on Leeds, though it wasn't with his bare hands. "And they were about the same size as you, probably bigger."

The brute laughed, and sat down facing Austin. "Do you honestly think that just because I'm from Crete that I'd believe that story? You're a fighter pilot. I'm a killer. Two different professions." He smiled again, leaning back against the wall. "You do amuse me, Senior Goodman."

Norfolk - Brig Cell 63 - Three days and eight hours after being arrested.

"Mister Goodman." A soft voice called out from outside the cell. Austin approached the cell door and placed his hands on the bars. "That would be me." He said lightly, so that strange Hispanic wouldn't stir from his slumber.

"I'm Anna Marie Murphy, and I'll be your defense lawyer for the time being." She smirked slightly and unlocked the door to the cell. "Which means you'll be coming with me."

Austin nodded lightly and stepped back, letting her open the door wide enough so he could slip by, she then shut it and before Austin could react, felt her push him to the opposite wall, roughly and pull one of his hands back behind him, slipping handcuffs onto his wrist, and then doing the same with the other.

"Figures...they'd send a defense lawyer who was actually an MI5 Agent." Austin mumbled as she stepped to the side of him. He took a step back and glared at her. "You could've asked nicely, lass."

She only smirked again, "This way, Mister Goodman."
