Hieght:5'9" Wieght:185 Lbs Alan Harrison Delaney was raised in a lower-middle class family on planet Eerie. At the age of seventeen, he enlisted in the Liberty Marine Corps. Upon graduation from boot, he was assigned to an infantry platoon as a rifleman. Over the next nine years he forged a successful career as a rifleman, combat vehicle crewman, and battalion-level dropship gunner. He eventually attained the rank of Sergeant, as well as a long list of accolades. His career was cut short when an anti-materiel rifle cut through his assault shuttle during a pirate station landing operation. He lost the use of of his right leg below the knee. Forced into medical retirement, Delaney spent the next few months drifting from job to job on Pittsburgh, taking any work he could get. Finally tiring of contracted Scrap-Metal harvesting, Alan was able to gather enough income saved to secure a loan from a banking firm. His eyes set on an old, military-model Firefly transport, he flew to the planet Cambridge to make the purchase that would change his life forever. ((This bio is a living document. I prefer to keep bios to a minimum, stating his backgrounds and life view in short. I feel that people sometimes get too wrapped up in how a character begins, and even sometimes the desired end result. I will be updating as Alan assembles his crew, takes on jobs, ect. I'm not a write, however. Be warned!:))) Captain Alan H. Delaney - Operator556 - 06-06-2010 Captains Log: IRLDAT 060610 Well, I've gotten my ship, and forwarded my loan repayment to the bank. This is my damn Firefly now! As for naming her, I was stuck between two choices, the "Gadsden", after a flag flown by Liberty's ancestors on Earth-That-Was, and the "Lady's Lament", because, well, it sounds romantic in a sort of rugged, old sea-captain way. I'm a softie and a poet at heart, I know. Anyways, after a night of hard drinking and christening my hold with yesterdays lunch, I woke up with a hangover, and my decision. "Lady's Lament" it is. Damn good times. Now, back to business. As I type, I'm on my way to Pittsburgh to conscript my first mate. Max Brodie. He's the foreman of a small-time salvage operation that's going nowhere fast. I did a lot of jobs with the guy in the past, and he's a straight shooter. Quiet, wise, and definitely smarter than I am. I could use him on board to manage the ship and keep things running smoothly when I'm Planet or Stationside. As for the rest f my crew, I've done some research, and found quite a few people on the neural net that might be receptive to the idea of 'freelance cargo hauling'. For the sake of convenience, I'm going to archive this list so that I can look it up later. Entries are ordered from the most pressing need to the least. Not that anyone is less important than the other. I just don't need a cook making us gourmet when I ain't got an engineer to fix my ship's lady parts. -The Engineer- Wallace McBride, an old BMM engineer that found more entertaining work boosting engines for the racers in the Dublin system. He comes highly recommended, and makes decent money doing what he does, but everyone can get bored now and then, and I can promise this guy anything but boring. I can probably find him on the Essex or Graves Station in Dublin. I need this guy bad, I need Brodie in the cockpit most of the time, and I sure as can't keep hobbling to engineering every time I need to milk some more juice out of my ship. Marking him as priority one. -The Gunner- -The Mechanic- -The Quartermaster- -The Cook- |
