Greeting Pilots,

Jack Harper here. For the past days i have been flying a sabre around in the Tau systems using the Freeport in 29 as a stepping stone from Coronado.

Only yesterday in fact myself and Mr Swift, Flamewing, got a tip off that the Presidents Nyx had been spotted flying through Tau-23 into 31. We were shocked at how stupid and careless this seemed to be.

We proceded carefully, knowing full well it was highly likely a trap engineered by the traitors to lure us out into open space. However once we jumped in through the gate to Tau 31 we saw only 6K away the Nyx showing the IFF of =CR=Baal[44th], well known to be the presidents prefered callsign.

We immediately moved in for the kill and opened fire. I have attatched some logs from my sabre of the communications before his ship exploded after a final shot from Flamewing -

I expect that from the confusion from the pilot he was a placed double, either not knowing of his situation or trying to talk his way out of it. I suspect he was trying to stall so that reinforcements could arrive and the trap could be sprung. However we managed to destroy the vessel fast enough and get out of there before any further colonial vessels could intervene.

Mr Lampkin, Fellow Pilots,

I have interesting news for you. Today myself and Swift came upon a situation involing a single Colonial Fleet member Callsigned Dragoon and A rogue Hacker. I kept the Comm logs and think you should take a look at them all. The first is a set from our confrontation with the Hacker himself.

This confrontation ended with no one hurt but the Hacker running off with his tail between his legs. He jumped to Tau-37 but we didn't pursue, leaving us to talk with Dragoon.

I am both excited and a bit cautious with the outcome of this conversation. If he truly is a sympathiser then he could be an enormous asset in the future. However it is easily possible he was lying to us and we should be careful not to rely too carefully on him.

Ill leave this to Mr Lampkin to decide as I have to get back out into space.

Mr.Harper, this is Lampkin. I don't make it a habit to go out of my way to communicate personally to too many of our operatives because of the ever present risk of detection by enemy forces.
However, this being a somewhat historic occasion in the good fight, I will make an exception, not the last of those to follow, of course.

It is a joyous occasion when we are not forced to resort to violence against our brethren while fighting for the cause and still manage to make a step towards the fulfillment of a free Republic. Make no mistake, this is a small but sure step towards that. I wholeheartedly approve of your and Mr. Swift's actions.

However, exercise extreme caution. Suffice it to say that we cannot afford to simply recruit these kind of men. It is very possible that they are either lying to get themselves out of a jam, or worse, lying in order to infiltrate our organization. Rest assured that the leadership shall be improving our methods of checking all potential recruits, and in the meantime, we expect all operatives to stick closely by the current ones.

The leadership's recommendation is the usage of such "converts" as intelligence providers and sleeper agents. The more information they provide, the more we will be able to rely on them and, in a critical time, we should be able to call upon all sleeper agents and bring down the corrupt machine in one fell swoop.
So do not mistake the importance of your actions this day.

Another victory for the cause was achieved today. I went to the mining fields hoping to find some colonial workers there. And my luck was in. I found a mining ship and I opened a communication channel with them. Soon, the captain of that vessel intercepted the transmission and I had to talk to him from now on. Here's the recording:
