ok well i want to test the beta but do not want to screw up deactivating and reactivating 4.83 im on vista so any help would be nice. because last time i deactivated 4.83 i had to uninstall everything and make a new account which i don't want to do again.........

a step by step from a beta tester who has vista would be nice =)

Thanks,
sn!p3r

EDIT: o sorry if this is posted in the wrong place

It shouldn't be that different between Vista and XP. So, here.

First, DO NOT EVER deactivate a mod, EVER. It can screw up your game big time. So instead his 'Restore Backups'. Once done, activate the beta. If you want to go back to the Final, just restore backups and then activate it. Done.:)

(And if you feel the need, backup your Account ID FIRST)

YOU MUST, MUST, RIGHT CLICK, AND RUN THE MOD MANAGER AS AN ADMIN.

Just watch... You keep doing that you'll eventually get an error saying that FLMM can't activate because you're missing Freelancer files...

D'Boy is right. Im telling you... ALWAYS use the Restore Backups option, Vista or XP. I have both and have had problems when deactivating mods on both OS versions.

Hmm...
I've been activating and dis-activating the freelancer mods for ages and the only thing that I found went wrong was what was described in the description.
"Backup content.dll"

If you enable open SP then dis-activate the mod this file will be deleted... Just back it up and replace if this happens.
(Back up = Copy content.dll and place it in another folder)
Easy;)
(I have NEVER had any other problems)
