Definitely_Not_Hone has been sanctioned for:

OK, i went and checked this out;
Joe Pirate manages to stop Larry Transport by knocking down a trade lane. Joe Pirate shoots Larry Transport with a couple of guns - doesn't scratch his shields, even - and THEN makes his demands. Joe Pirate has not attacked prior to starting role play. (This also happens a lot with it's Joe and Pablo Pirate working together, too.), Is shooting at your ship a hostile act? You bet. But did he actually do anything to your shields? Nope - then it's just a case of I'm getting your attention here, so pay attention to me.
Joe and Pablo MUST be careful, though (as does Larry Transport) - there MUST be some role-play now before those shields get dropped. So just because the lane is dropped and Larry finds himself face to face with Joe and Pablo, Larry cannot just blithely open fire on them, either. And Joe cannot pop Larry with a SNAC just to get his attention - he MUST role play first.
Well the slaver - not called larry obviously - Did just blithely open fire on me and my escort, after i had hit him with a CD, and when i delivered the warning shots, so under the next rule;
If a player is attacked he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking.
Surley i was within my rights to destroy him?
And if its because i didnt issue any demands beyond ordering him to stop;
As additional clarification, Joe and Pablo are not required to immediately make their demands.
And before i could tell any more than to stop for a 2nd time, he opened fire, so i defended myself as it says i can in rule 5.2.
If he had stopped, i would have had time to issue demands, but i was trying not to let him get away agian, and he was shooting at me.
I had an escort, and when i recieved the not-so-subtle sanction threats from the slaver - i forget the slaver's name - i asked him for advice, and its that which put me onto finding this excellent evidence for my defence, ill try to get him to testify.
I hope you give me my kit back, but if you don't, it was worth it to kill a slaver.

I was the escort to Definitely_Not_Hone, after the intial attempt to pirate him (from Definitely_Not_Hone) the slaver ran, a very long way as it turned out, while that would've been agood time for RP then, he was busy trying to teach me some slingshot trick.
Anyway the slaver stopped running and tried to turn around, where upon Definitely_Not_Hone disrupted him, I don't remember if he fired a few warning shots but the slaver opened fire a matter of seconds after he was disrupted. There was not time to shout things like 'Haha you're mine now slaver!', as i the usaul when you've finally got your oppnent trapped.
Prehaps the slaver should've waited for a demand rather than attacking straight off, it would have cost him nothing to do so, as not everyone can talk, CD and turn around at the same time.

Defending yourself only applies if I brought your shields down to half, which I never did seeing as how my salvager had only access to the four basic gunboat turrets with no energy due to the cruise.
If you feel that I did indeed decrease your shields to the defend-able half, you're welcome to post evidence of that.
Not that that absolves you of what you did though.

You might be right about that, if so Im in the wrong, and i apologise. I think you DID bring my shields below half, but i didnt take screenshots, as i was busy, however i probably brought your shields below half before you did to me, which may put me in the wrong, if so i admit i handled the situation incorrectly.
