Would it be possible to add new key definitions that you can map certain keys to use as a quick comm that plays the sound to all nearby players? such as the sound files that NPCS say

Not really sure if that is possible, however I would not want to see it. In other games I've played with that ability annoying people would spam them over and over and over and I would get really angry

Almost 100% sure that that is not possible. Agreed with Monk as well, I wouldnt want to see it if it was.

it might possible but it would be incredibly difficultas it would require new key bindings and of course they would have to change whn you got a new faction and im not sure if that stuffs hard coded

I don't know, I'm not a coder, but using my twisted Noob's logic I think I could see a way to make that work. Chances are it'd take a LOT of time. Probably not worth it.

Theres always going to be noobs, and spamming VC should be just as bad as spamming in text.

I just thought that a voice chat might be good for use durring a battle? since its kinda hard to type out a message when doing so will make you very vulnerable

Thats what the Teamspeak Server is for.

One difference there... You start spamming anything on Team speak, and I ban you. Simple as that.

As for this idea, I think a simple 'NO' should cover it. I agree with Monk on this one. I'd prefer chat spam then sound, at least I can ignore the chat being sent.

Ok... Well if spamming WASN'T an issue... then what...

Stuff i was thinking of was police RP using a VC to let them know youre being scanned.

Quick comms - DBoy1612 - 10-23-2007

Oh, so what you're asking is for a hotkey command that makes the little NPC box in the top left corner come up saying you're being scanned? Ya, that would be cool and all... But I don't think that's possible to program in Freelancer.
