BBC News: Martial Law in Dublin Announced - Wolfs Ghost - 07-12-2010 Bretonian Broadcasting Corporation A man approached the podium and cameras flashed everywhere. It was apparently one of the largest announcements since the armistice with the Molly Republic. He was wearing a fresh and clean uniform of the Armed Forces, and wore the newly instated rank of 'Vice Admiral' on his shoulders. He cleared his throat and looked out towards the crowd. "Good afternoon, As we've slowly been pulling our forces out of Dublin in agreement with the Molly Republic, and only holding a small majority of fighters and bombers stationed there to counter any Kusari incursions in this system. We weren't aware that the Molly Republic would soon go into turmoil. Due to recent combat actions by small fighter wings of Armed Forces and Police vessels that have been operating in Dublin, we are halting the withdrawal and declaring martial law in the system." Gasping and murmurs could be heard throughout the crowd. "Yes, you heard right. Dublin, as of now, will be in a state of Martial Law, and the forces that have been pulled out will be returning to the system and the Essex fleet. We will also be sending fighter wings from the Suffolk to assist in quelling any opposition that appears in the Dublin system. Now, I know declaring Martial law seems like the Military is taking over, in truth, we are. However. I've came up with a guidelines for civilians and Armed Forces pilots to follow. If you take a look at the screen behind me, please." Dublin - Martial Law Guidelines
1.) Armed Forces pilots have the right to tell all transports, and mining vessels to leave the specific area at the time, for whatever reason deemed necessary.
1a.) Unless a transport or mining vessel provokes hostilities first. No officer of the crown should fire on a transport, or mining vessel. 1b.) If an engagement is about to heat up and there is a civilian vessel in the local vicinity tell them that they are in a hostile or potential hostage situation, and to immediately remove themselves until the area is made safe. 1c.) If a civilian vessel ignores the request to leave the area immediately, Armed Forces and Police units cannot guarantee that vessel(s) safety. 3.) Police units are authorized to continue scanning and halting any vessel that is both inbound and outbound, in any attempts to stop the illegal smuggling operations done in Dublin. Request for an Armed Forces vessel that is currently not in an engagement can be made, but is not mandatory. Police can conduct their operations without an Armed Forces ship present. 4.) Secondary fleet pilots are to move their vessels into the Dublin system to provide more security measures when not engaged in any other system. "Since the beginning of the broadcast, and announcement the Martial law has been in effect. Rest assure that this is only temporary and will last as long as needed until the system is deemed safe once more from hostile corsair incursions and pirates." He proceeded to leave the podium as people started to shout attempting to ask questions of other military chances or important affairs that may come in the future. |
