CPU Heat - Korny - 07-14-2010

Well, we all know it's getting warmer and warmer, especially now in summer time. I already got about 30 celsius (in my room) in the morning, which gets even more in the afternoon. And my CPU gets also more and more hot, compared to the last few years. It reaches almost 60 celsius, and I'm not really satisfied with that. So, how warm does your CPU get in that heat ?

Purchase can of compressed air, open case. Rid internal cpu & gpu fan and heatsink of dust, proceed to do the same to all other components.

PC is water-cooled and in temperature controlled room, temp readings irrelevant.

I already got a good case, the problem is the heat in my room.

CPU Heat - Varyag - 07-15-2010

And if that doesn't work pull the heat sink, clean all of the crap from the manufacturer and put some silver thermal compound.

Your contradicting yourself, you claim temperature of cpu is raising with passing years.
I simply suggested a maintenance solution to the obvious.

Also, what the red headed stepchild above me mentioned.

I never had 35 - 40 celcius in my room the last years. That's what I meant. I do maintain my computer, so that can't be the reason. I just think that it's the heat in here, we never had such a hot summer before. Maybe this is the reason why my temp raises, maybe it's just me but...*shrugs*

You had not previously stated that the temperature of the living structure had risen with the years, only the cpu.
30c is common running temperature, 40 to 50c at full load with cpu variance in consideration .
If you have the means consider alternative cooling solutions when these limits are exceed.

Buy a decent cooler, 3 120 mm super silent Fans- I can offer you this for CPU and this for the case. They work perfect and silent.Clean your PC from time to time too.

CPU Heat - Primitive - 07-15-2010

60 degrees is actually normal..coming from a person who overcloked his cpu and ram:)

2.0 pentium to 2.4:Dheat eats him but he holds it now in summer days ! well for now

CPU Heat - Rommie - 07-15-2010

mine is blown up...

my 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4 runs at a staggering 64*C atm, with no overclocking and the box is opened. If i close it, the fan(which already sounds like its industrial) goes wild.No overclocking whatsoever...
