It would be a good idea to complete discovery's ship list to ask permission and use ship from North Quadrant mod or other mod like that. That would make things much more simple. You would just need to rebalance the armor and all, but the hard part would be already done. Current modder would continue doing what they do, and I hope they would.

What do you think about it?

You will not know, what i think about your idea.
After spending so many time to learn how to modeling, i don't want the implementation of further models from other mods. Exception would be the Slave 1.
We have a good modeling community here and your idea is insulting me and some others, i'm sure.

Also this mod is unique. There are a lot of nice ships you will find here only.
This is Discovery and not North Quadrant or WTS or Crossfire or Monkey Universe or Phoenix etc.

I don't think he's taking a stab at Disco's modelers here, he just wants to further expand the talent-base, I guess.

True... but still...

I agree with Angel of Mercy - the modders we have in the community (and this one alone...) are doing a fantastic job. Plus... that's only one of the reasons why we are on the top of the top 50 servers...

They are doing a great job, yes... but why shouldn't we take advantage of other folk that do a good job too?

Warren was an import & I agree with Blunt that there was no malice in the opening comment - just someone offering an idea.

I agree. We have some very good modelers here in disco. Perhaps we could economize? If that made any sense...

I would agree with what you are saying Eloyts, if you had said this say in may. Back then, we did not have many of our great modlers and only recently I have begun to notice we have many more people willing to make us ships.

As of now, I would say just keep making more ships! To whoever feels they are up to the task.

Sorry I didn't want to offend anybody, I really respect what you are doing and I know the amount of work it represent, its just an idea I propose. Let me explain more clearly.

Its not about replacing our current modder, its about completing their work. They are doing a very very very good job. Having other mod's ship would just make discovery even more complete. Current modder could continue doing their nice work, it wouldn't change anything to what they do.

I just say ; Why not?

I would like to begin with saying that I understand the desire to get more ships added in a quick fashion. I am working on the Outcast Dread and it is a very slow process to get a ship up to the standards set by our communities modders. I make ships because I enjoy it, it has a sense of accomplishment when one is put in the game, and I don't even play online.

I do support any decision made by Igiss to implement a ship from another mod into Discovery, especially really well made models like the Firefly. He's got to do the coding and he is the God in these parts. The problems I do see occuring with the implementation of pre-existing ships from other mods is that it can hamper the community modelers creativity and working space. Example; there are only so many Liberty Gunboats needed in the mod, and that spot is taken.

My suggestion is to... well either suggest including specific models in the mod suggestion thread, or better yet contract a shipwright to make a model for submitting. If a specific model is desired, obviously having someone model a new version of an existing model is redundant and not needed. That would be a situation that I would support adding a model from another mod. Igiss or you would have to get the permission and it would need to be "freelancerish" of course.

Lastly, we really do need that list of ships that are actually needed. Combat ships seem to be the most populatr type of ships for people to model, and needed combat ships are dwindling. Just waiting for a Gaian Cruiser... j/k

Sorry for the long post,
