More than 5 pilots? - Xoria - 11-06-2007 I have read a few statements around the forums that seem to indicate to me that some players have more than 5 pilots under their control. I can easily see how this is possible by using more than one computer, but I wonder if this is possible using only a single computer. It occurs to me that perhaps the individual pilot files/folders can be moved "in" and "out" of a Freelancer directory so that a player could use more than 5 characters on one account. Do I just have a too active imagination, or is that possible? If so, how? I haven't been able to locate those files if such a thing is even possible. I have also seen some characters that are designated as "shared", which indicates to me that the character is sometimes controlled by one player, and sometimes by another. Apart from two players sharing the same computer, is that possible otherwise? More than 5 pilots? - ghostcat - 11-06-2007 XD Korrd made a Freelancer account manager ages ago. I'll edit with the link if someone else doesn't beat me to it. More than 5 pilots? - Virus - 11-06-2007 Its a program written by Korrd called Freelancer Account Manager (FLAM or FAM). A lot of people use it. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...account+manager ' Wrote:XD Korrd made a Freelancer account manager ages ago. You can set up two accounts on Windows (i.e. separate admin account, your own account) and load Freelancer separately there. If you want to make it easier, you can use Korrd's Freelancer Account Manager (FAM). Here's the link for more info and trouble shooting with it: Freelancer Account Manager Thread Hope this helps. Hype More than 5 pilots? - ghostcat - 11-06-2007 Yeah, I figured that would happen. Oh well, now yer set. One thing, to make new accounts, you need to load FL with a new windows account, then open the account manager once. More than 5 pilots? - LancerZero - 11-06-2007 It is awesome. I think somewhere on the second or third page of the topic someone does a really nice step-by-step on how to get it all set up. Just to save you loads of searching. =P More than 5 pilots? - Xoria - 11-06-2007 A casual glance at LancerZero's signature tells you what got me wondering... Thanks fellas. Now I remember seeing someone mention that program in a thread somewhere but I forgot about it before I went looking for it. I had been wondering how some of you had memberships in multiple clans AND multiple ships in each of those clans...now I know. Too bad Korrd's post wasn't pinned somewhere. More than 5 pilots? - Xoria - 11-07-2007 Just as soon as I open my big mouth...along comes a foot. Thanks for the foot Juan. Now what about shared accounts? How do you set it up for people in different places to use the same pilot? More than 5 pilots? - kingvaillant - 11-07-2007 when you're creating a new account you have a signature and an other long serial key. Give them to who you want and he'll be able to add it to FLAM and to play on it. it's like a credit card number,,,everyone can use it. they just need to have the code to have access to it. So be carefull to who you give any FL account EDIT: I strongly recommend you to export(option in FLAM) your account ID on a safe disk, usb drive, etc. so If one day you need to reinstall window on your PC you'll have a backup of you FL account ID |
