Sirs, I have troubling news. One of the subjects detained for 'corrective instruction' as per your orders was apparently guilty of more than distributing those flyers with the disturbing capitalist propaganda about setting up a market garden and selling the produce to your neighbours.

At 0500 hours today, subject Valentin Abramova (citizen file attached) was administered the standard dose of amobarbital and immersed in the conditioning tank. The reconditioning process proceeded within acceptable variables until 1845, at which time the subject began to show symptoms of a major psychotic episode, probably brought on by the stress of the procedure. Subject began to taunt the monitors present in the conditioning chamber with details of a plot by an SCRA captain to resign his commision and flee Coalition space with his vessel.

Unfortunately the monitors were overenthusiastic in their attempts to retrieve more information from the subject, who expired at 2035, having revealed little other than the rank of the supposed defector. The little information we have suggests that the potential traitor would most probably be in command of a Storm class gunboat or similar vessel. Obviously the monitors involved failed in their duty and have been relieved and scheduled for correctional instruction themselves.

While it is a possibility that the entire story was merely the product of a shattered mind, the potential for embarrassment to the SCRA is enough that I have instituted a series of covert checks on the loyalty of those captains with relevent ranks. However I'm sure I don't need to tell you that given the size of the task we may not be able to uncover the traitor before he makes his move.

I will continue in this course of action for the duration, unless I receive new orders from yourselves.

Hail to the Glorious People's Coalition!

*** ERASING MESSAGE AS PER SECURITY PROTOCOL YH-074 ***

// Hi SCRA, this is a preliminary contact to find out the possibilty of obtaining a tech use exception for a new character I'm thinking of making. Obviously the concept is a sort of "Red October" defector. I'm a fairly new player, and I've about saved up enough to move a character up from flying a VHF to a gunboat, but while I enjoy RP I don't really enjoy RPing within a military structure. I'm English in RL and I was considering applying to the BAF anyway when this idea occurred to me. I can just imagine the great exchanges that could happen with me desperately trying to explain to the house security forces that I'm a defector and not an advance scout for the SCRA! (Also, I just *love* the model for the Coalition gunboat. ^^)

// It's pretty obvious that the character would be on the SCRA kill on sight list, the idea of being chased by my vengeful former communist masters also brings up some exciting RP situations in my mind, but obviously there's no point in going ahead and developing the character further if you guys aren't willing. I was thinking (if any of your players would be interested in this, that is) of providing further spy reports culminating in a final one something like 48hrs in advance of my attempt to infiltrate Omega 52 to make the purchase, so that your patrols would have an idea of when to expect me, and then some further posts from "the defector" with his resignation and such.

// You can get in touch with me on the boards on this account, in game you'll most likely find me on my trader Igor.Black, neither of these chars would be the defector though, I'd be making a new char for that. Look forward to speaking to you guys!

The word "defector" is found only in the dictionaries of the enemy. There never has been, nor ever will be, a "defector" from the ranks of the victorious Revolutionary Army. Any rumors to the contrary are to be considered anti-revolutionary statements, and their propagators swiftly dealt with.

// Well, that's disappointing but not unexpected. I'm a trifle surprised that the idea was shot down in such a curt and final manner, but such is life.
