refugee liner - Jinx - 08-03-2010 this is a simple model based on the luxory liner - refitted for the upcoming refugee flood that may happen in bretonia due to the gallic threat. no frills, no ornaments. - the southampton shipyards simply took a liberty OSC liner and stuck megatons of armourplates on it as well as another lower passenger module. all the quarters have been removed for huge areas where people can at least travel, not in luxory and style - but there will be room enough and air. now that ship is not really meant to be submitted cause... the RP for it is there - but the way it can be RPed is not there... so ingame it could only be "just another transport" .... however - the idea is to have a totally weaponless ship ( like the zoner whale ) - but since this liner is as large as a battleship - it should have huge shields and tremendous armour as well as several arrays of multivector CMs ( which only means that there should be a dozen CMs firing their ammo into many directions ) no thruster, battleship speed and turning may turn it into a ship that is determined to reach its destination even against a pair of bombers or a gunboat - while its not able to pose a real "threat". refugee liner - TheJarl - 08-03-2010 It looks amazing, just wow! Detailed Bretonian textures look good on it. refugee liner - Slainte - 08-03-2010 Now that is an awsome model mate. Think it would be good for Bret Embassey vessal. Can just see it sitting outside Manhatten or New Berlin. SRP anybody? But Gateway would get one or two for sure. refugee liner - Doom - 08-03-2010 while model looks great i can't but to wonder what is the purpose of the ship?....unfortunately, about 20 years ago my country was involved in a war...and many parts of my country were occupied by "foreign" army...from those parts many people left/ran, and became refugees....i don't remember they had any special vehicle when they left...they were driving whatever vehicle were on their disposal, and if they didn't had any means of transportation they went in normal buses, mini buses etc.... in disco they would left in their own fighters, freighters and transports...and if anybody would organize transportation i assume liners and people transports would be utilized... Pure refugee liner....doesnt make much sense to have such specific ship... However, model itself has very nice RP potential, just not as refugee liner... refugee liner - Jinx - 08-03-2010 thats why i think that it has no real meaning in terms of gameplay... but there are refugee liners - usually those ships filled up with people who were a litte "too late" to emigrate from danger in time - foced to leave what they wear. i remember that in ww2 - those were sometimes passengerships that were ( not really modified in a technical sense ) but totally overloaded. real "on the spot" refugee liners would most probably simply be luxory liners overloaded with people. - but where s the fun in that:) after all - we RP ships that look the way we want to roleplay - or why do we need to roleplay bomberpilots in bomber looking ships? - after all... fighters could most probably mount the same stuff ( torpedos, not supernovas ) - or we RP repairships... even if all the ships are repaired by nanobots etc. refugee liner - Ash - 08-03-2010 Interesting, but I can only imagine a few being made for Bretonia. They still have other firms and independent traders to take people out of Leeds aswell. But there's only one issue I have with it. How much money do you suppose the Bretonian Government has to make ships? refugee liner - Jinx - 08-03-2010 in times of desperation ( real one ) - money is meaningless - what counts is manpower. - when its about the pure survival - people will work for free - or for their lifes and the lifes of their fellow citizens ( unless they are slightly corrupted, then they try to make a good coin out of others people desperation ) in the case of bretonia - its well about pure survival - pushed hard by kusari for years - and then facing an even more dangerous enemy. - where its not to much about political ideals - but about territory, too .... and since bretonians do not like zoners too much, they cannot all become zoners =) - so they gotto go somewhere to settle down. refugee liner - Bobthemanofsteel - 08-03-2010 I would have sex with that ship. Mmmhm. I get a feeling it could work well as a Satsuma equivalent, too. It still has a sense of elegance, on top of it's badass 'Here for business' look. refugee liner - Oldum - 08-03-2010 Jinx, you don't know how long I was thinking of a ship like this:) Also, I think the way to RP with it is there, just have to make it. My mind already started working:D refugee liner - Luis - 08-03-2010 Agreeing with what Doom said - Having a refugee liner doesn't bring purpose to gameplay. They can simply use the Liner "enterprise" or the Queens Carina Liner - Forgot the name. However, the model looks great when it comes to need in one. Refugees are those who ran from battle - i suppose, correct me if I am wrong - but leaving from the battle will be either from a figher- through a freighter. Liner is a bit too much in my opinion. But, you made the model for fun. I understand:P |
