as i see lately, pirates are doing what they want with the taxing. i think the limit was 3 mill credits , or maybe im wrong. can any one help me here. there is a maximum tax ?

Usually it depends on cargo.

There isn't. Demanding a ridiculous amount of cash counts as a PVP abuse, but that's about it. Also don't forget that everyone has enemies, and for them it's completely inrp to ask for all your cargo. That's the commercial equivalent of the gutting.

Whatever they want to tax you.

People can be sanctioned for taxing too much, though that's totally Admin opinion there.

I usually tax 1 - 2 mills. If he runs, he pays 1 mill more. If he has a hold full of ore I take his cargo. >:)

It depends on the situation. Each encounter is unique as in every transport and player you meet is different. Some might be new players and others have an abundance of credits to share. Use your common sense in piracy.

There's no limit, per se, however there's fairplay. For example, charging a Rhino hauling oxygen 10 million is unreasonable and can get you sanctioned for the violation of 0.0. Please be sure that you don't become one of those who use piracy as an excuse for a blue message, which involves extorting a large sum of credits that nobody would feel inclined to pay.

Also, accept cargo if offered. We're all players and we just want to have fun. Don't ruin others by destroying their hard earned cash just because they don't want to pay monetary values.

I was in my pirate hegemon, cargoless, and two pirates pirated me for 7M. Because I was a hegemon...

Well, they were beginners or rude people. Or maybe some trans-character vengeance?

By the way, hey - a pirate thread! I didn't see one for a weak at least.

2 mils for a usual Transport and 5 mils for an Ore hauler used to be the norm...
Now? Who knows! I see people taxing empty transes for 10 mils and Ore haulers for 25...

That's pretty much what I had it set to, with some variation on cargo and general RP of the victim.
