Nomad Morph Roleplay - Azurren - 08-26-2010 So, I hear a lot of QQ, ranting and complaining about people role playing Nomads. Well.. You take the time to discover the Ancient gate to the unknown system after investing time and money traveling around finding weapons for your new morph to use. You travel from one end of the galaxy to the other hunting for these weapons, armor upgrades and shields. And what do you get at the end? Diddly-Squat! Half the people will ignore you, the other half will just shout something and start shooting you. Then to up hold your RP you have to think and type out a long winded ***(Pain)Darkone..Spitfire,Light'one.*.:Anger:.*.*** (Or similar) to express your feelings before deciding whether to fight or flight! (But usually you're so bord at this point you will almost always choose a blue message over running away and farming nano bots from NPCs) You do get a few people who will RP with you. However they will often not understand your Nomad riddles, broken English and feelings. RP wise you can't just transfer what you want into their puny minds. Sure, you can send them images, feelings etc. But you will always have to rely on the other player to lead the RP (Putting extreme strain on them and boring them half to death as you can't even acknowledge anything they say) This leads to many good / standard RPers that will just blatantly ignore you as they simplify can't be bothered with a nomad morph. I RPed a nomad as there just wasn't an option for them when I used to play here. I also had a lot of ideas for riddle-like speaking and expressing emotions. This also leads me to the fact that the [Keepers] just don't exist when I'm playing and there are no guidelines on how to make yourself heard. Sure, the Keepers FAQ provided me with a few examples but that is it So, to sum up this rather long-winded half rant post. The next time you see a Nomad Morph, even if his/her role play absolutely stinks in your opinion, at least spare them a single line of text to brighten up their day before ignoring them. So a huge thanks to anyone who has even acknowledged Zek'ra, the lone morph. And to those who just ignored it.. You know who you are.. No matter how good/bad I thought you're RP was before It means bugger-all to me now. Nomad Morph Roleplay - kramer - 08-26-2010 Hehe i have also a morph and i can verify that a lot of players ignore you, shoot you for nothing or annoy you with ooc. But i think it is an important part of development of the roleplay and the player him/herself - and there are players out there who actually enjoy the morph/nomad rp. I choose a 'naked' morph with a shield only and no other stuff, who/which is exploring the systems in a naive childish mood. It is hard but it is worth and i only play it on rare occasions when i'm really in a patience mood:) Nomad Morph Roleplay - Seraphin - 08-26-2010 The only place where I dont ignore morphs at is the omicrons. If I see you outside the omicrons, you wont even get a \"coo chie choo chie choo\" from me. Nomad Morph Roleplay - Ipuvaepe - 08-26-2010 I use a morph with all civ weaponry (Morphs = Civ/OC only, no nomad tech also or so I've been told). It really is hard on whomever you are RPing, with the usual exception being if that someone also has a morph:D There was a guy in Alpha earlier who couldn't understand why five friendly dreadnoughts killed his tridente when he fired on a morph. Honestly some people are just a pain. Nomad Morph Roleplay - kramer - 08-26-2010 ' Wrote:The only place where I dont ignore morphs at is the omicrons. You start in Texas as a morph. Why shouldn't one start rp'ing there? Going through Alaska/Minor is not an option so you have to make your way through at least two houses. And the Omicrons are not the only region where nomads are... Nomad Morph Roleplay - Akura - 08-26-2010 ' Wrote:(Morphs = Civ/OC only, no nomad tech also) You're wrong, Nomad Morphs are red to everything except Nomad on the Tech Chart. That includes Civvy and Outcast guns. Nomad Morph Roleplay - Disparagess - 08-26-2010 You can't really force people to do things, if they don't want to. In this circumstance at least. If everyone ignores you, move on somewhere else where hopefully they'll listen. Try the omicrons, people there are probably more likely to RP with you (or find you and shoot you down, but just sit a few hundred K below the plane) Nomad Morph Roleplay - Bobthemanofsteel - 08-26-2010 Nomads are boring, really. I shoot at boring things.:D Nomad Morph Roleplay - Azurren - 08-26-2010 ' Wrote:Nomads are boring, really. And to be honest after hour after hour of boredom I would welcome an excuse to shoot something :P But honestly.. Only in omicrons? Nomads can go anywhere they like! You are in OUR SPACE! Nomad morphs have a child-like curiosity and just want to experience and understand everything. What kind of child would stay in his play-pen if he figured a way out? To those who argue that Nomads should be limited to the Omicrons I argue that Nomads should be able to fire on ANYTHING that they don't find curious. (Case by case basis of course). Nomad morphs have two instinctive feelings. "Curiosity" and "Anger". If the nomad no longer finds you curious due to the fact you are completely ignoring it Anger will follow. (Completely RP according to Nomad Law and single player campaign, In fact it goes against everything RP to NOT do this.) // (About weapons. The only thread that gives a How-To and Simple dos/Don'ts is the Keepers thread. Due to the fact that Trial ID owners can't use Nomad weapons they can use either Civilian or Outcast) Nomad Morph Roleplay - Ipuvaepe - 08-26-2010 ' Wrote:' Wrote:(Morphs = Civ/OC only, no nomad tech also)You're wrong, Nomad Morphs are red to everything except Nomad on the Tech Chart. No, you are wrong. Yes, the Nomad ID is red for (House) Civilian and Outcast, however the Nomad Trial ID is not even listed. In fact, the Nomad ID isn't even used in GC. As a side note, see this: ' Wrote:* In all cases, characters may purchase and use ships and weapons that are sold on bases that belong to the same faction as their faction ID regardless of color coding. Did I mention that among other guns, the Mini Razor (civilian) is sold on all nomad bases I've docked at? ' Wrote:// (About weapons.
