Jist of it: Exodus is more or less a Sister to cannon Freelancer mods, Exodus does not take place in Sirius.
Basic Story: The Known Galaxy is now Split between two Factions, Divided by Ideology and feircly opposed to each other.. The Republic sits on one side and the Empire sits on the other, for 400 years the two Sides have been at war but for 400 years neither side has achieved decisive victory. On and off fighting has often led to false sense of peace over the years. The Two factions are connected only through string of systems Called the Corridors, filled with nearly unnavigable obstacles, the massive fleets have been battling back and froth through the Corridors for centuries.

2245 The War with the Coalition was Nearing its 200th Anniversary and It was not going well for the Alliance. Slowly but surely the Coalition forces where diminishing the Alliance Defenses and it wouldn't be long before they Broke the Jovian line.
At a Meeting in Paris in 2247 The alliance Nations, North & South American Unions, Europe & Japan met in secret to Treaties with the Coalition, one fairly Radical Ambassador from North america Proposed the Idea of sleeper ships being sent to various parts of the galaxy. Though met with intrest it was not put to a vote while the war was raging. The alliance considered a treaty with the Coalition to be the only way, in 2249 a Cease fire was declared..the 5th of its kind. North American Union and Japan, as well soon after The Asian Union ( which was not a member of the alliance) Where sold on the idea of seed, or sleeper ships an Began working on them independently, though it violated Alliance treaty to do so.
in 2252 Negotiation broke down and the War resumed The Alliance now knew that it Could not win the War, at a Meeting late in 2252 the Alliance commissioned 16 Sleeper ships, Among them where the Liberty, The Rhineland, The Britonia, Kusari,Gallia, Santeria ,Queensland and so forth... How ever the North american Union, japan and the Asian union had all been working on their own ships for several years.
in 2254 the War took a turn for the worst.. The Coalition had Broken The Jovian Line... the Alliance was forced to fall back to Mars... where it was soon being pushed back to earth late in 2256... The 4 ships of the richest nations where Prioritized over the others and when the coalition forces eached Earth, The 5 Sleeper ships Broke the coalition blockade and went to Sirius systems.... but
In 2255 9 months before the Battle of Luna where the 5 sleeper ships where launched.. the North american union and Japan had each completed their own Ships, Classified on the Highest level the Americans had considered sending the sleeper ship with the Liberty to sirius, An ambitious young Colonal how ever argued successful that we should put all our eggs in one basket... The Exodus would be sent in the Opposite direction twords a star system nicknamed Almatzer.
3 weeks before 5 Aliance sleeper ships where launched the NAU Launched the Exodus, Japan 2 days launched the raiden... the Asian union launched Shao Pai long... all 3 chasing each other.
