So.

Check it.

A while back the Zoner Guard ID got nuked because it broke the formula. The pro/con formula of decisiveness. The IDs are all being revamped to be cleaner, simpler and less O_o. It's a bit of a process to erase the stains of time in that regard.

So one ID which is bothersome is the Zoner ID. I'd like to merge them into one ID and get rid of the 5k restriction.

Thing is that would send us back to the time of the long ago. Where Zoner whales roamed the stars in numbers unending, their mating calls of CANNOT PIRAST echoing through the void like the song of whiny angels hauling cardamine.

The recipe for the new IDs is pretty simple: Is the potential for the ID reasonably locked down?

LN ID: Rep hacked. Limited ZOI. 5k? 5k.
Freelancer ID: Not rep hacked. Unlimited ZOI. 5k? 3.8k.
Bowex ID: Rep hacked. ZOI pretty vague. Gunboats max. 5k? 5k.
Zoner ID: Not rep hacked. Unlimited ZOI. 5k? Heck no.

So the position I wanted to forward, resulting in poop being flung at my person, is that the Zoner ID would be well served if the greater Zoomer community would concur that a shred of wisdom existed in, say, being rephacked hostile to house unlawfuls (house house. Not Hessian/Corsairs((haw))/Outcasts). Said unlawfuls would still have access to freeports. But wouldn't admit Zoner docking requests. Their material needs are met by the Junkers.

That'd result in Zoner ID: Rep hacked. Unlimited ZOI. 5k? 5k.

Or you can keep it as is. Your call.

it depends on your intentions - and your trust in the players really.

when the ZG ID was nerft - some players distrusted the community - hence a rule was attached to it. ... before that ... the zoner ID was nerft in terms of cargo capacity.

but you really need to tell me, what exactly is wrong with the current zoner ID / ZG ID?

about one sided rep hacks - no deal from my side. it makes no sense - if ppl are hostile to zoners, zoners won t let them dock - simple and easy. ( no deal, cause i see no benefit in terms of RP or out-of-character from that... and no logic either ) - zoners can become hostile to house cooperations - if house cooperations get rep hacked hostile to zoners, too. - that would make more sense anyway. ( including cooperations serving house cooperations - and hostile means ... zoners can target them in border / edgeworld space - and vice versa )

One ID which doesn't have 500 lines of text.

The other idea is even more radical, inviting the concept of regional Zoners. Which would result in roughly 4 IDs. Not sure if that's the right call yet.

I'd say yes just to see 5 k whales full of cardamine dock on Manhattan.

Zoner ID - mira - 10-01-2010

I say YES, give us back good old zoner ID

Reason being:

Tau 29, Tau 37, Baffin

Yukon, Bering, Kepler

Omega 49, Omega 50, Omega 41, Omega 3, Omicron Theta, Omicron Delta, Omicron 74

The lion's share of the freeports are, generally, in one region.

Though Gran Canaria/50 could, theoretically, be their own breed.

Remember that if we do that Zoners will be unable to land anywhere in house space. House corps trigger house police.

edit2:

it may be beneficial to first discuss it with the factions alone ( privately ) - and then present a few concepts the factions agreed on to the public

Zoner ID - Dusty Lens - 10-01-2010

Could be. But all in all I figured it'd be a good topic to discuss with everyone to see what kinds of ideas were brought to the table.

Why would Zoners become hostile with house corporations? Wouldn't the implication be that Zoners will become hostile with houses too?
