Corsair trading - Curios - 10-04-2010

Alright, this have came to me few times already. Corsairs have only artifacts, organs and prisoners to trade. But what all those people on Crete and other bases are doing except flying around?

I think corsairs are producing something on their bases.. anyway basic supplies that produced on Crete must be delivered to the bases and such. So why not to add some more commodities and additional (including lawful, legal cargos) routs to Corsairs and other huge pirate groups (now there is 3). Well, outcasts have no inspiration to build facilities. They are rich enough to buy everything they need. But Corsairs and hessians are basically only smuggling artifacts\organs\blood diamonds and 90% of their nations are just flying spaceboats. That makes little sence.

Opinions? Ideas?

They are slowly expanding their power and territory to match their genetically enhanced arch enemies.. So they sell artifacts organs and get food supplies and hull panels and other ship building material to make more ships... In short they are trying to outpower the outcasts...

Well, Vanilla-vise its right. But now ... meh, it's unreal to get ALL materials to build WTFPWN fleets only from robbing traders and from junkers. Logic says there must be some inside manufacturing.

Corsair\Outcast population dramatically rised... anyway zoners grown from ~50000 up to billion these years.

P.S.

Also it's unreal for planet to be completely out from any minerals and resources. It must look like an empty piece of rock like a moon. So Crete must contain some resources on it's surface.

Artifacts, water and oxygen to nearby stations is what you get.
And epic fail from your behalf and 0 points for local patriotism for forgetting BLACK MARKET MUNITIONS:D

Crete has alloy and minerals mentioned above. Even with air and water the crops grow poorly because the ground is rather unfertile.

Well, water and oxigen are kinda expencive at Crete >.>

Crete should have some minerals, definately.

It could lack oxygene a bit, and be quite low on water (to explain low growth of flora)

It's expensive everywhere in the Omicrons. It's actually the cheapest sell point in the area. A low-level micro-route involves taking water to Freeport 9 from Crete, then Food Rations back from there. When I was looking for connectives to other Freeports, I was also surprised at Crete's lack of mineral commodities as well. I think selling Basic Alloy might be a good start (which is currently a major import).

Another good commodity that could be added would be Boron, given that it is a pre-refinement 'primary' commodity. Maybe some goods to mine could be added to the field in Omega 41 as well? Maybe a mention to massive weapon outlets for side arms too? It would certainly give the impression of an amount of economy to the area, as opposed to a sinkhole for imports.

Considering the corsairs are not on good terms with the zoners at the moment, due to blowing their ships up, i dont think thats a good idea with the fp9-crete.
