Coronado [EVENT] Mildra Marte was born on Holmfirth Base. Her parents were activists in one of the gaian movements. Branded terrorists, they tried to shield her from a life on the run so they smuggled Mildra to Cambridge. She was raised by a foster family. She received a good education and as a teenager she enjoyed flying. Her pilot license soon followed and she even landed on a good job position for the Cambridge Institute of Zoology. She was the pilot that took students and researchers to different locations. She learned a lot from them. She studies focused on wildlife. Feline species in particular. She traveled a lot to planet Gaia to discover some unique species. That's where she met the Gaians. Mildra wasn't very interested in politics and everyday news. The Gaians were just another organization for her. Not terrorists. The only terrorists she knew were the Corsairs and an old defunct group called The Phantoms. Terrorist is the human that kills in order to spread fear. The Gaians didn't fit this description. They were killing for other reasons. Needless to say that the Gaians didn't attack or intervene in any way. They were only observing her studies. Her non-intrusive methods on gaian wildlife assured her security. However, not everyone was peaceful on Gaia. The giant wildlife, especially the reptilian species were very hostile and not once they almost killed Mildra. One time, her ship was damaged and she couldn't take off. The Gaians were the ones that saved her. That's when she met her real parents. She went to Holmfirth with them. Of course, they insisted that she would go back to Cambridge but she wanted to hear their story. She started to understand what they were fighting for. She went back to Cambridge and in the following year she completed her studies; presented her project and then, she vanished. She joined one of the Gaian movements. Her primary target were the BMM bases in Manchester, especially the ones in the close proximity of Holmfirth. Between two lane raids, she also continued her studies, independently. She organized trips on certain planets in order to observe the wildlife. She was planning an expedition on Gaia and in the same period, she had encountered alien lifeforms. She was influenced by them to go on Gaia alone, without a science team. She started believing that the Nomads and the humans were Gaia's creations. She developed a cult where the Gaians and the Nomads were the protectors of the Universe, Gaia was the supreme goddess and the entire humankind was a plague. Her attacks on trading convoys started to be more aggressive. In the end, she departed for the expedition. The Nomads followed her on the surface of the planet. That's where her body was infected with an incuby - a nomad form that could control its host body. This was Mildra's end. But the story keeps going... As a young man, he used to spend his time around the main spaceport watching and dreaming about the ships that were departing and all the places they were going to. When he got older, he was a rebel. His school grades were a mess. He was partying with alcohol, drugs and women most of the time. Also, mindless violence and acts of vandalism were not uncommon for Kim. He blamed his father for his behavior. Or better said, the absence of his father. As regional director, the old man was spending more time traveling than home with his family. But, when Kim was 23, doctors gave him the news that his father was suffering from a rare condition, one that would force him to retire and spend his life with his family. The news was received with joy and sadness at the same time. Joy because he got to spend time with his father. Sadness because he didn't do anything to make him proud. But those feelings changed to hatred when his father was murdered by some foreigners on the suspicion he was infected by Nomads. It was 800 A.S. The Nomad War paranoia was running high and the events in Kusari aggravated this state of mind. The shock made him change. He attended course on the Naval Academy and graduated 5 years later, first of his class, showing exceptional strategic thinking and knowledge. He was proud of himself and that could be seen from miles away. That's what kept him away from commanding his own vessel. No instructor was going to put the young man that showed limited discipline at the command of a warship. He was talented and smart but he lacked discipline. However, everything changed when Kusari lost the war against Gallia. Naval Forces command was changed entirely and they relied on young officers because the veterans were mostly loyal to the emperor. Kim received the command of a bright new battlecruiser, christened Takao. A new design, state of the art weaponry and systems. A jewel. However, he was placed in the secondary fleet. Support role was not on his liking but Kusari is on the brink of Civil War and aliens intensified their apparitions. Kim and his crew are about to see some action...
