Well, I've been incredibly bored lately. No, this isnt another one of those "I'm Bored so I want a new character idea" topic. Im not bored of any characters, but by discovery itself. Everything has gotten stale lately. Not just ships or characters, but entire houses. Does anyone else feel what i'm feeling? Super hyper bordom with the current version? Im not saying 4.86 will entirely cure it but it will surely help...

Weeell I can add only +1 here. Agreed with the same feelings. But I might join some interesting faction too:nyam:

Yeah, it's everywhere.

I have it in Rl too.

A little.

Forums provide entertainment though. Even if you are just watching.

The update's taking too long, so people are losing interest and walking away.

I think the main problem is that there's just not much in-faction activity. The factions themselves are dying or dead... in most cases because the people who lead them have gone inactive, or stopped responding to communications to those factions (with a few notable exceptions).

Solution? Boot the inactive leadership for fresh, active ones. Discourage use of generic ID's like pirate, mercenary and freelancer by restricting them (deny use of bomber and gunboat for instance, or require an appropriate IFF). Once the factions become active again, RP should flare up through the interactions between those factions, which will make Disco more interesting.

Then help the Devs out.

If the police aren't arresting all the criminals, should I dress up as Batman and do it myself?
Would be funny though.

I'm not complaining about it, because I know it's a lot of work and it's free for us...but this is true.

Try playing another game for a few weeks/months. Sign on to Discovery every once in a while to keep your characters alive. You'll get that itch to come back after a while and the freshness will be renewed.

I wouldnt boot the old leadership, but they might want to appoint more deputies.

Problem is inexperienced deputies can screw a faction over if they suck.

I have been, am doing, and will continue to do so.

You try getting Sov (or anyone else) on the line though.
It ain't easy to get the work you've done put through to those who need it.

Oh, and it doesn't help that the devs are losing interest and leaving, as well. The whole thing's a cruddy situation -- someone needs to take a little initiative and start handing out assignments. Something for people to be accountable for.
