Caprica (BSG spinoff) - oZoneRanger - 12-02-2010 If you are a Fan, then you know the Show got the Ax. So the Syfy channel can put WWF on friday nights now.... Been a big fan of BSG since the Original back in 78.... The Next installment in the Series is set 20 in the future from where Caprica ends and deals with a young Adama in the early days at the start of the war with the Cylons. I read it should be out sometime next year. If you are the Type that likes to watch entire seasons in one sitting (I on occasion have been known to do that) here is a nice LINK...18 episodes.. I thought it did a pretty good job starting off the whole Franchise. I think it suffered from a case of to much RP and not enough Pew Pew...people wanted to see the robots fighting right off the bat..but the whole story line starts here so it takes time to develop. Next installment sounds like more Pew Pew... Enjoy oZoneRanger Caprica (BSG spinoff) - Exile - 12-02-2010 Caprica is just an attempt to milk to BSG universe for as long as possible. I turned it off after five minutes of the first episode in which they dragged some girl out of a crowd in a night club to get sacrificed by some crazy dude with a blade. Thought it was quite disgusting. Caprica (BSG spinoff) - Patrician - 12-02-2010 Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw the beginning, Exile. I was like "oh what the hell?", but stuck with it since it had Eric Stoltz. It actually wasnt bad; I liked seeing the colonies as they were on a day-to-day basis before the apocalypse. When I saw it a year or so ago, it was just a special. They didnt say it was gonna be a series, just that one episode. So, I enjoyed it, but now that its started as a series...Im not interested enough to go back. If it had all rolled out after I saw the pilot, maybe. Now...I just dont watch much TV and it didnt grab me enough. Oh, and The Plan was better. Seeing the series through the eyes of Dean Stockwell was awesome. FANTASTIC villain. Caprica (BSG spinoff) - ophidian - 12-02-2010 I will be sincere. I am a die hard fan of the 2nd generation Battlestar Galactica, the 2004 series. I even have a tattoo of BSG 75 phoenix star. But Caprica is... meh. Even the BSG people were like "Ermm.. .yeah, its very good" - they were lying of course, you can read it from their body language if you know what to look at. Caprica for me was an attempt to squeeze more out from the BSG success. The 2004 version was unique though. Adama and Roselyn (Olmos and McDonnell) were to open the United Nations council with a speech regarding discrimination and all. Its a big step to achieve. That BSG managed to do those, it was why it became so special, near to its superb acting and all that. Just wanted to tell. Caprica (BSG spinoff) - Marburg - 12-02-2010 I'm a fan. & unlike Exile and Patrician, I loved the disturbia in the club that Exile found disgusting & it was a great hook. Since then, the only ongoing issues it really had in my eyes was pacing (& that could have been easily fixed) Back when the network canceled the show they claimed it was because the ratings were too low. I'm convinced that was a lie because they only sited the Neilsen numbers & refused to release the DVR numbers. The shows real problem was the network itself...I was angry at first the way they axed it, but I had to remind myself that syfy primarily caters to children & it's hard to market an adult show like Caprica along side stuff like Sharktopus. It could have flourished on some other network if NBC simply leased the rights Caprica (BSG spinoff) - Marburg - 12-02-2010 ::shameless bump with no apologies whatsoever:: Any mention of a sequel/prequel created for the purpose of milking is invalid, because 99.99% of every sequel/prequel ever made, was made for that purpose & that purpose alone. don't kid yourselves:P Caprica (BSG spinoff) - Coin - 12-02-2010 bsg = fantastic bsg 2004 = even better caprica = watched it once, and there were a bunch of women sitting around discussing a bridal shower. WTF? i checked the listing and this was indeed the spin-off show. bridal showers? where is caprica six? where is gaius? where is kara thrace? will have a looksee at these later tonight if i get time... these links work in uk or only usa?
