Message

Thank you for providing me the needed informations to escape the Pueblo Station.
My Name is Franz Oberhauser, I'm 33 years old and a ex. employee of the Ageira Technologies. I worked in the Coordinating Department, which was planing the routes for the transport vessels, quite a nice Job, until some of our convoys didn't reached their destination. While I always planned the same safe route, with the same amount of escort vessels, they thought I'm a corrupt employee, who's working together with the criminals. Didn't took to long until the local police arrived and tried to arrest me, and that's where your message arrived me, to escape this hell.

I jumped into the civilian shuttle that you provided me and followed your instructions, first I decided to visit the shipyard and blow some of their depots up, which gave me a good amount of scrap that I was able to sell on Rochester. While talking to several Junkers, Rogues and whatever I found on Rochester, I managed to get some coordinates from wrecks around Alberta, Ontario and even Colorado. Salvaging some of this parts from this wrecks, the Junkers were nice enough to pay some good credits for it. Of course the credits weren't enough to buy a Dromedary, so doing some jobs for the Rogues gave me finally the amount of credits I needed. I headed to Pennsylvania, to be exact, Bethlehem Station, bought a used Dromedary and headed back to New York. A small talk with a Rogue at a tradelane, gave me the coordinates for Buffalo where I could get the Cardamine that was needed. Trying to convince the Cardamine dealer to give me a small amount of 50 units, he told me I'm not trustworthy enough, so taking some jobs from him about shooting Bounty Hunters fixed that problem and he sold me the cardamine. Final stage, heading to Montezuma without getting followed, well here I'am, awaiting you.

I was originally from New Tokyo, Shibuya District. I briefly studied basic engineering before flunking out. Luckily, I had an in with a local corporate office for Kishiro known as the Yokokiru Corporation and found steady work as dock security. I was able to transfer up from regional security to planetary for Yokokiru. Local culture and vocalized personal opinions resulted in setbacks, keeping me in this position for a number of years.

As the corporation shifted focus, it needed to cut it's personnel. I was set to be cut when a chance opportunity was brought to my attention by an old associate. The ability to transfer to Liberty by a minor contract deal between Yokokiru and a Libertonian transportation corporation known as Obsidian Supply. I took up the chance and made the move.

Obsidian Supply was another regional transportation corporation, though had minor solar dealings with Ageira Technologies. Through my work with Obsidian, I was moved and sorted to handle more of these contracts, working directly with Ageira to secure safe passage and negotiate dealings with local authorities. During these contract dealings, a few shipments didn't make it. Being the outsider, I was blamed, though the top people held comment. A year or two of this and I was formally hired with Ageira to over watch trade lines between Pueblo Station and Baltimore Shipyard. I quickly found that this was a scapegoat position as the gate between the two systems was heavily hit by criminals. There was a lack of funding to get proper escort detail for the shipments, and I got hit with repeated offenses of our transport route getting hit. My naive nature had got the best of me until it became apparent they needed someone to blame for this. Things happened quickly. All of my access got wiped. I was notified to stand down until security, my own security, came to collect me for questioning.

This is when the message from your group came.

Using the codes given, I was able to hop from the station and escape. It appears their process of my removal was perhaps not entirely legal or questionable at least. It appears a swift bounty was placed on me as multiple hunters were chasing after me by the gate to New York. I made quick work of one and in their confusion jumped systems. I did the minor task you asked, though was greeted by a patrol and defensive wing. Another quick escape under the exploding debris found me avoiding the trade lanes towards the Penn system. There, I hunkered down low for a bit, taking odd jobs for the local junkers and rogue. As instructed, I was able to buy a small freighter, and delivered the requested cargo to it's destination. Hopefully this will more than pay for bail out I was given. I tire of being screwed over by the corporations.

Well, it's been a much rougher fortnight than that to which I am accustomed.

It didn't start out so poorly. There was a beautiful view on the other side of the New York jump hole. So enticing was this vista, in fact, that in that little shit-shuttle clinging to the debris, those Xenos and Hunters didn't distinguish me until it was too late. A pity what with the diplomatic efforts, but what the Xenos don't know won't hurt them. Hitting DSE's storage platforms is a stupid suggestion. It's too exposed and defended a position, too brazen and obvious a move - it would attract far too much attention. All the more reason that it was worth performing the act to prove myself capable. Done, flawlessly, all thanks to their negligent security. Securing enough funds to acquire the equipment you've mandated was arduous, but finding my way out to Vegreville was profitable enough. I debased my abilities carrying out the wet work of your associates, as detailed in the mission logs to follow this transmission. Finally I scrounged enough to be able to source and equip a combat-capable freighter. Then again, as directed, I've secreted some cardamine to Montezuma, from which I'm transmitting now. Mind, if you couldn't already tell that, perhaps I'm wasting my time. So, let's get on with it.

I'm from Ageira, you already know that. I was in a role comfortably upward in the hierarchy, overseeing and coordinating the efforts primarily of logistics, if you could call what some of those brain-dead ship-borne ninnies contributed "effort". And now I'm here, in what may generously be described as, comparatively, a stinking hole. At least this ship offers some refuge. But I digress. I was deposed, my position and life along with it usurped by the cretins who had the slightest power over me, and the sudden opportunity to replace me with an installation to their own benefit. And what was I offered, in exchange? Scraps. Skerricks. And what followed my flawless legacy, then? A shambles. Incompetent nincompoopery. All the more of which to take advantage, now. I had enough enemies, fighting through that corporate hell, in Ageira and otherwise, and these events turned the balance. They have stripped me of the advantages and position I had built, that I was promised that with work and effort, were mine to keep. I have done my work. I have made my effort. And now, I intend to collect.

I'll listen out on the usual channels, and maybe on whatever I can work my way into, too. Don't be long; I'll get impatient - and we both know the Rogues don't deserve me.

Good evening,

I must say the past several weeks have been quite harrowing to say the least and without these instructions I would be space dust at this point. I am originally from Planet New London but ended up moving to Manhattan for schooling. Did all that was required to do well and make it to the illustrious Ageira Tech. Of course everyone wanted to be a part of it and they did a wonderful job in selling the position.

I spent the first bit of my career flying in the convoys throughout Liberty before settling down in Los Angeles where I was tasked with managing the shipments myself. Several uneventful years led me to Pueblo where management slowly whittles down the passion and bright-eyed idealism turns to jaded pessimism. The competition between the employees was rough, always more pressure from above and never good enough for the shareholders. Minor slip-ups or delays with shipments and the software itself led to frequent re-assignments. I never thought too much of it until I was consistently passed over for promotion with younger employees given more responsibilities. Eventually, most of the people I started with were gone and moved on. Why treat your employees well when you have first pick at the finest academies in Liberty?

Nine years working for Ageira all gone with the company turning on me at the end.

Evidence of completed tasks

Thank you, Hackers, for your assistance in my escape from the corporate oppressors! My time with you has opened my eyes to the corruption around me. My eyes have been opened to the lies of the corporate scum! I have none but you to thank for saving me from my own ignorance.

I cannot remember life before the Hack, and life after has been most enjoyable. We may yet win the war against the corrupt pets of the kleptocracy known as Liberty!

I cannot be more thankful for my acceptance into the world of the technological elite.
I completed all your tasks and loved every minute of the adventure I will forever be in your debt.

To: Lane Hackers

Thank you for saving me from this hellhole.

My name is Kage Tenshi. As you are already aware i come from Ageira, but my story begun many years ago.
I was born in Planet Honshu, by wealthy parents, both working in the Gas Miners Guild. Our "home" was in Aomori Station, in Honshu. They were working in offices there on the HQ. I dont remember much of my childhood. They never cared about me. They never wanted me in the first place, they viewed me as something that took money away from them. Money that could be used to make their lives better. When i became an adult i left home. Never to see them again. I stole a ship from the station and flied away from Kusari. Thankfully i knew how to fly very well since my best friend, who i met in the GMG Academy that my parents were sending me to, was training to be stationed on the outside systems influenced by the GMG, systems that often fell victim to Outcast and Corsair attacks. My friend died from a training accident, that no one ever spoke out. GMG never publicised the accident and told every employee to forget about it.

I had no destination, nowhere to go to, no family and no friends left. So i decided i'd set course for Liberty, since Liberty was the closest to me and the easiest to get to.

I initially tried to find a job on DSE, but they wouldnt accept me because i had no Engineering knowledge. And they werent going to send me in an Academy for free. After DSE turned me down, i decided to apply to Ageira. They offered me free training on their Academies, and a job after the training was complete, on Pueblo station.
The Academy years went on normally, nothing special happening. Until I got my job at Pueblo.

I never liked the people there. Everyone was looking at me like i was below them; "A Kusarian in our station? Working the same job as us?" I heard them say behind my back.

Days of gossiping behind my back became months. Months became years, and my hatred for them grew ever stronger.

I couldnt take it anymore. I would've never imagined that it would come to this, but that day proved to be the day i was reborn into a new life. I shot a man talking **** about how im a bastard and i dont belong here. And before i notice it, the alarms start ringing. The private security that guarded the facility proved to be no joke. I locked myself in my room. And thats when.... you found me. I dont know how you found me, but you did. I read your message, and i thought to myself that this could be a new beginning. A new... life.

I followed your instructions step by step. I stole the civilian shuttle from the landing pad and i launched to space. My reputation wasnt good. I had to fly to the New York jumphole. Which i took. Unfortunately, there were no Xeno ships on the other side of the jumphole to kill.
Flying through New York space i passed by Baltimore Shipyard. And i saw the DSE Depots. In an instant, memories of DSE turning me down and leaving me helpless came to mind. I destroyed their depots and tractored their precious H-Fuel to remind them of the error in their ways.

I seeked home to the Badlands, in the Rogue base "Buffalo". They didnt seem to like my presence there, so i thought i would have to earn my respect. I headed to the Junker base "Rochester", thankfully i was allowed to dock there. From my first day there i started doing missions for them. Knowing that the enemies of Junkers are enemies of Outcasts, Rogues and Lane Hackers too. It definitely helped that during my flight to a mission objective I helped a fellow Liberty Rogue pilot kill a few Bounty Hunters. My affiliation was still bad after all this, so i decided i would do even more missions from Rochester. These missions proved to be worth my time, since they helped me get to a neutral affiliation with Liberty Rogues. After a few more missions I was ready to head to Buffalo. I did a few more missions for the Rogues there, and tha got me to a good point with both Outcasts and Rogues. I followed your directions, and i knew that my next destination had to be Pennsylvania. So i headed to the Junkers base "Allentown". I took a few more missions there. On the trip to the mission objective on one of my missions i passed by the Xenos "Milford" base. I destroyed all the fighers and freighters going in and out of the base. Feeling proud of the massacre i did, i headed back to Allentown with my loot from the mission, and the killing. After this i was ready to move on to the next step. I bought the Dromedary, and did more missions so as to fully equip it.

I then went to the Black Bart and obtained the Prototype Weapon codenamed "DIAMONDBACK".

After that i was ready for the final step. I bought 60 units of Cardamine from Fort McMurray on Alberta, and made my way to Montezuma Base, to sell the Cardamine.

My journey was big. But i loved every second of serving the people that saved me, and offered me a new life.
Thank you Lane Hackers.

You got to me just in time! Thank you!

I had been suspecting for a long time that something wasn't quite as it should be with one of my senior bosses. As a mid-level intelligence coordinator, I often got intel on wreck sites in the vicinity. Some of these wrecks were know to contain valuable goods or equipment. Or both! I gathered the data on them, and passed on the intel to my boss. But for a while now, I had been noticing that a few of them seemed to have disappeared in the system. When I looked in to the matter, my boss told me that I "shouldn't worry my pretty little face" with it! The pig! So, I did some snooping around behind his back. After all, I have access to all his passwords. Whether he knows it or not! *she giggles* So, where was I? Oh, right... The intel! During my investigation, I discovered that my boss had kept the missing intel to himself. No doubt, was he selling it on the black market. Upon further digging through the files, I saw that the other bosses were doing the exact same thing. So, I did what any girl would do. I went to my boss and grabbed his... tie, and said: "I know what you're up to, and I want a piece of the action!"

When I went to my quartes that night, I noticed my boss discussing something with one of the other bosses as I passed by. They said nothing, but they didn't take their eyes off me until I stepped through the door to my living quarters. I knew I had pushed my luck too far, and as the morning came, so did the real problems. Access was denied wherever I tried to go, and I had forgotten to make a copy of the incriminating evidence. I was done for! But, then your message came through. I dashed for the hangar bay, and jumped into the waiting ship. Then I undocked...

It was an inferno! All the turrets were firing at me, and I saw security officers dashing to their ships as well. And that's when I found the cardamine in the cockpit. It was too small to show up on the cargo manifest and scanners, but it was EXACTLY what I needed. I took a deep whiff, and the world just... changed. It was as if a new dimension had opened right in front of me. My senses were sharpened, and my brain went into overdrive. None of the turrets could hit me, and the pursuers were quickly lost in the asteroid field. It was the greatest feeling in the world! But now, it was payback time!

The CEO's at Pueblo had already alerted the bounty hunters, and they were waiting for me at the gate to New York. They're dead now! And so are those damn Xenos who tried to butt in on the battle. After I had disposed of the trash, I jumped to New York. I plotted a course for the Badlands, but then I remembered that I had a chance to stick it to them right away. I made a brief stop near Baltimore Shipyard, and let loose my guns on the supply depot that belonged to DSE.

When I finally arrived at the Rogue base in the Badlands, they just laughed at me, and told me that "if I ever wanted to see the inside of their base, I needed to take my clothes off right there and then". Or I could "head up to the northern sector and try my luck with the Junkers". I opted to go for the Junkers! After asking around a bit, i was introduced to a man who said that "he needed things done, and in return, he would pay me, and put in a good word with the Rogues". "Deal", i said! It turned out to be various sabotage and assassination assignments, and since I still had some cardamine left, I was ripping through whatever he threw at me. And then he finally said the magic words: "You go visit the Rogues now! They'll let you in!"

Once there, I started asking around about Your organization. Where could I find You? How to make You take interest in me? Finally, a guy named Dean Askew, offered to help me out. In return for a favor, of course. *she sighs* He had seen nothing but Rogue women for a very long time, and he was dying to... "get closer" to me. Frankly, I don't blame him. Their women had everything a man could ever wish for. Huge muscles and hairy chests! *she shrugs when she thinks about the Rogue women on Buffalo Base* Bleargh! So, I said to Dean: "OK! You tell me where I can find the nearest Lane Hacker base, and how to get friendly with them, and in return, you can spend the night with me". He was all excited and went: "Yes, yes, yes!" Later, when head had closed his commodity shop, he came to my quarters. I smiled at him, and offered him a drink. Which he emptied before he'd closed the door behind him. "So, where is this base, and how do I get in", I asked? He gave me the coordinates to Montezuma Base, and told me that "it was the only place for someone like me to even be on the same base as a Lane Hacker". He also told me that "cardamine was the only way to negotiate with them". Then he passed out! Right there in front of me. The little extra "something-something" I had spiked his drink with had finally set in. I just let him lie where he was, and went to bed. In the morning, he was more than a little annoyed over what had happened. But I just looked at him and said: "I told you you could spend the night with me, and you did! Lying on the floor, while I was sleeping in my bed right beside you." He started to say something, but I looked at him fiercly and interrupted him: "You've just told me - someone who the Lane Hackers have little or no knowkedge of - how to find them. Do you think they will look kindly on that?" "You belong to me now, Dean! You will provide me with information, and I will make sure you are compensated, but you belong to me! Got it?" He just nodded, and left the room. I left too. I had new friends to make!

I spent some time at Buffalo building up a decent pile of credits before I headed for Bethlehem Station in Pennsylvania. I was going to need a bigger ship if I would have any chance at all to impress the Lane Hackers. I got the ship, and remembered that the intel I had stumbled on back on Pueblo had pointed out some juicy wrecks for me to loot. Especially one had caught my eye. It was a storage container, which was believed to still be intact, and also contain an experimental weapon. Only problem... It was in the Grande Negra cloud in Texas. An irradiated nightmare if I ever saw one. But, i needed that weapon, so I could free up some cash. So, I went, and i got it! It went by the codename SOLARIS, and it looked like it could do some damage. The dealer on Bethlehem had never seen anything like it, so he ended up paying me more than i could ever have dreamed of. A little flattering, a little flirting and a few kisses on his cheek made it easier, of course, but I was in the money now. Now, it was time to get down to business again. With my newly acquired Dromedary freighter, I plotted a course for Alberta. The message I had gotten on Pueblo had said something about another experimental weapon there, and since I had the intel from my boss, finding it was a cakewalk.

The instructions in the message had also told me to get a shipment of cardamine to Montezuma. My heart was throbbing when I left Buffalo Base again. Would the Lane Hackers accept me as one of their own, or would I have to spend the remainder of my life ducking on remote bases? I made sure no one followed me on my journey, and then I reached Montezuma Base. I left my ship in the docking bay, and let the Rogues unload the cargo. In one of the corners of the docking bay, I could make out a silhouette standing in the shadows. I stepped closer... "Are you my saviour", I asked?

Dear user there is no body to this message but there are several images

ManhattanGazetteArticleConklin.PNG

"Ageira Technologies and LPI officials are struggling to make sense of a grizzly scene that took place across at least four systems yesterday.

It all started with what Ageira spokesperson Monica Lyon said was a routine performance review scheduled for Arno Conklin, 51, a member of Ageira Technologies Legal Department for six years. According to Ageira, four members of Ageira Technologies Human Resources Department and two LPI officers were killed when Mr. Conklin's console exploded. Moments later, Mr. Conklin fled Pueblo station in a stargazer, and was seen flying away from Pueblo towards the New York jump gate (note that authorities are considering the possibility of multiple Xenos, Bounty Hunter, and LPI killings in the area to be linked to his escape). From there, Mr. Conklin was tracked to the New York System before vanishing into the Badlands. The Liberty Navy, unaware of the massacre in Colorado, told the unidentified vessel to leave the system and, after some delay, he was seen departing for Colorado. The last definitive siting of Mr. Conklin was at Bethlehem Station in Pennsylvania, where he is confirmed to have purchased a combat freighter. There are unconfirmed reports that Mr. Conklin was responsible for the destruction of two dozen LPI ships in the Jersey Debris Field.

As quickly as Mr. Conklin vanished, there is even more mystery as to his fate. In the Texas system, the wreckage of a Dromedary was found that contained traces of Mr. Conklin's DNA. Authorities say it may have been related to a dispute between the Zoners and Lane Hackers in the area.

Until Mr. Conklin is a confirmed fatality, the Liberty Police have charged him with six counts of Aggravated Homicide for his actions on Pueblo Station, Eighteen counts of Homicide relating to the deaths of Xenos and Bounty Hunters in Colorado, and twenty-six total counts of Homicide of a Police Officer in the Line of Duty for his actions of Pueblo Station and the carnage in the Jersey Debris field, he is also charged with piracy, fraud, and giving aid to a terrorist organization, the Outcasts.

Perhaps the alleged links to the Outcasts are the most interesting part of the allegations of Mr. Conklin. According to Ageira's Company Directory before his removal, Mr. Conklin was a veteran of the Bretonian Secret Intelligence Service, who retired after serving 10 years, he then studied law at Cambridge before coming to work for Ageira.

Sources in both Bretonia and the LPI, however, say there's more to the story. Mr. Conklin's father was Deputy Section Chief for Counter Terrorism when he was indicted and terminated from the service for allegedly providing material aid to the Outcasts. He maintained his innocence until he was found dead in his jail cell three years ago. The coroner ruled his death a suicide but intelligence sources fear it was to silence him because he finally came to realize that it was in fact, his own son who was passing information to the Outcasts and he had started talking. With the death of Mr. Conklin it's like we'll never know the truth about much of these lurid allegations."

Phew. I believe i could hear them blast the door and burst in, finding nothing but a note proving their outright intellectual disadvantage. Faith in them having an unpleasant rest of their shift and a lot of fun on trying and tracking me is still strong in my heart.
But, putting the lyrics aside - i have made it out. Not without complications and a pulse discharge getting the best out of the shuttle's shields and, i believe - burning bits of it's internal storage.

That civilian shuttle have lasted surprisingly long for a ship with partially fried electronics: enough to ensue a space arcade-like spitfire on a lot of regular locals, do some exploration, gravedigging, gift a shiny trinket to the Rogues of McMurray - they have been so impressed by that shiny trinket that they've even tossed a hefty sum of credits at me for it. Probably carried it over to the local boss, but i didn't take the time to track the fate of that souvenir - as soon as i got what i have counted for we have parted our ways.

These hospitable people have also kindly directed me to the nearby anomaly - well, as much as pointing in the direction of it can be considered a direction - so i have returned to Ontario and moved on to California and Pennsylvania, analyzing the local patrol patterns, have calculated the approximate locations of the anomalies, soon adding their exact coordinates to my star charts. My pre-pre-final step was Bethelem; McMurray was visited by those merry Rogues from all over Liberty, and the one from a place he called Niverton bragged about something and briefly mentioned it as a place where "everyone and their stepmother can go", and i went there, looking to replace my shuttle - it was making spooky sounds and i've been afraid it could fall apart mid-flight. The station itself is dangerously well within the scope of the local authorities, but hopefully news do not spread around that fast - that's what i thought while looking for a local guy with that had just what i needed - an aging Dromedary whose electronics probably were less fried than those of a shuttle. Besides, my tiny workhorse went dead silent shortly after i landed, so i doubted that it could start it's engines ever again, and getting stuck aboard that place did not really correlate with my plan.

But, all in all - i have launched the newly acquired freighter into space and went over to Buffalo - spending a token of credits on McMurray got me some handy charts data, and i managed to salvage it off the dying data cache of the shuttle among other things.
Oh, and the Cardamine crates are stored away at the Montezuma quartermaster - hopefully, safe - Rogues, as hospitable as they get - pretty much lack any restraint. Footage that managed to survive the EMP hit will be attached to the message.

Greetings whoever it is that is reading this. Of course, after a little snooping around in your systems I have an inkling of who I am speaking to. You really should check the dependency packages you use in your system for vulnerabilities before installing them. I would be glad to patch it for you... once you let me join you.

Once I heard that you were accepting enterprising individuals who could prove themselves into your group I went straight to work and accomplished your tasks effortlessly.

It wasn't anything special for me as I am a Hacker anyway and knew where I had to go and what needed to be done. I have spent half my life exploring both Liberty space and its systems. By systems, I mean all the wonderful computer systems just begging me to exploit them. Thanks to my work across liberty I have an unparalleled, undetected bot-net of devices ready to perform any computational and networking task I want run. Distributed computing is just the best!

Log of my missions..
