**Global News Network Communique**
Horrific event today in the Omicrons as a crazed Zoner Destroyer Commander ordered his ship full of to crash into Crete full of active Nuclear devices!
It is still hard to say whether his actions were self-motivated or if it were part of a greater plan from Zoners to seek retribution from the recent conflicts between Corsairs and Zoners in Omicron Theta.
Needless to say, it was estimated 10 million Corsair citizens died to this incident. The ship exploded when entering atmosphere above one of the lesser populated cities of Crete.
Our correspondant there just managed to get us footage and a picture showing the area covered by the devastation:

Witnesses of communications in Omicron Gamma stated the Zoner cruiser entered system screaming and warning of his impending actions all over the system channel. Our correspondant interviewed several witnesses to the Zoner commander's last words shortly and right before impact:
"ML: Navigator, set collision course with Crete."
"ML: Power up Nuclear Devices."
"ML: Corsairs! Witness the fruits of your needless warmongerings!"
"ML: My ship will detonate upon impact and millions will die!!"
"Crew: Nuclear devices ready sir."
"Casandro: Zoner in system"
"ML: Go in Full Speed ahead!!"

At this point the Zoner charges his ship into Crete's atmosphere and mutters his last words seconds before its fatal explosion.

Cameras from a nreaby station in Gamma recorded the impact explosion from afar:

It is so far unspecified as to exactly why a Zoner commander of such ranks would take on such measures. Some sources say he believed a Corsair plan was at work to obliterate Freeport 9 from Omicron Theta.
It was known that he had previously attempted to bribe the Corsair Empire by abducting Corsair pilots into his ship and torturing them to death.
Such undertakings were clearly the mark of a mad man and his crew, and a desperate move from independant Zoners accross the board to end all conflicts with the great Corsair Empire.
It is feared throughout all of Sirius that the implications of such an event will far more likely reach the epitome of Corsair martyrdom for generations to come and a devastating prospect of ever seeing peace in Omicrons...
