'€œWake up blunder head! You'€™re going to be late.'€ The irritable noise forced Jacobin to open his eyes. '€œCome on. Wake up.'€ The alarm clock filled his vision; flashing 9:23. '€œCrap.'€ Jacobin jumped up from his bed, hurrying to get his trousers on.

'€œWhoa! Cover yourself up.'€

The voice was that of Jessica Dalton; Jacobin'€™s roommate.

Jessica was, in one word, beautiful. Jacobin had known her for a few months. Her blond hair was cut into a bob which framed her peerless face with eyes of meadow green. Her body was curved almost to perfection; her skin was rich in texture and flawless. Jacobin had not met a girl he felt was more beautiful.

'€œOh! Sorry.'€ Jacobin blushed, finally realizing his nakedness in front of Jessica. '€œReally sorry.'€

Jessica giggled. '€œThat'€™s quite alright'€ by now Jessica had turned her back talking over her shoulder. '€œYou should have left for college an hour ago.'€

'€œI know, I know.'€ Slipping on a pair of socks he stood up. '€œI'€™m decent.'€

Jessica turned and smiled. '€œYou know, girls like surprises on their birthday but this wasn'€™t what I expected.'€

'€œIt'€™s your'€¦'€ He slapped himself on the head. '€œCrap, I am so sorry. I didn'€™t even realize.'€

'€œNo. You wouldn'€™t. I didn'€™t tell you about it.'€ She frowned slightly. '€œJC, you should head out.'€

'€œI know, I know.'€

'€œYou know a lot, don'€™t you Sparky?'€

'€œI know, I kn-'€œHe laughed. '€œWhy do you always have to be mean?'€

'€œBecause it'€™s fun'€ Jessica'€™s face was lit up by her grin. '€œAnd well with the war on, fun can be hard to come by.'€

Jacobin heaved his bag onto his shoulders, '€œDon'€™t remind me. With the price of everything going up, it costs three times as much to take the shuttle to college as it did a year ago.'€

'€œWell you never know. Maybe our boys will push '€˜em right back to Kusari in the next year.'€

Jacobin laughed inwardly. '€œMaybe, but I should get going.'€
