Brief Personal History
Marcus J Scarman
Callsign: Scarecrow
Marcus Jonathan Scarman comes from another universe. He was originally a boarding marine for the Liberty Navy, but after a scandal he was framed and charged with crimes against the nation of Liberty. After that, he spent months flying as a freelancer, being forced into piracy and petty crime to keep his very existance.
Throughout his travels as a renegade, Marcus met many people and made plenty of allies and enemies. One person of note became his current wife of five years, Tomoko Yamaguchi. He and Tomoko lived on Manhattan, in his home dimension and produced one child; his son Matthew.
During Marcus' exile, he met up with members of Liberties "Freedom Fighters", an elite group of fighters sworn to protect their home space. However, a deep conspiracy led to the exile of the [FF] as well as Scarecrow, and as Marcus found out more about the reasons behind his exile, he realised that he and the Freedom Fighters had a lot in common.
After fighting a corrupt Liberty in order to restore peace, Marcus was offered a place in the Freedom Fighters, which he took graciously. Through this decision, Marcus Scarman has become one of Liberty's most renowned tactitians and warriors. He worked his way up to the position of Admiral and defended his patriot nation gallantly on many occasions; defeating the insane Emperor Krazier during the great Imperial Conflict, repelling the great massing of pirate rebels shortly afterward and putting an end to the most recent threat of the Zeta.
Most recently however, Marcus has been blasted free from his home dimension to spin freely through the void until dropping into an entirely different universe. During the battle of Omicron Alpha, the ultimate battle between the Freedom Fighters and their allies against the Zeta menace, a rift in time and space was torn in the very fabric of all that is thanks to a cataclysmic explosion within the Zeta flagship's antimatter star drive. The explosion of photons along with the raw energy of the battle forced a source of unknown origin to overload and throw reality into turmoil. The majority of the First Fleet was sucked into the void, along with their Zeta enemies.
Marcus managed to escape the blast and was left in his own dimension alone. He sought out the best scientific minds in the galaxy and with what friends he still had left he succeeded in completing the impossible; creating a device that could manipulate the void and open up rifts through to other dimensions. Marcus used the device to try and find his friends, but instead found his way to an entirely different universe...
