In a fiery torment - Serpentis - 01-01-2011 The ground base of the Enclave Defense Forces, also known as the Corporis Caste within the Enclave, was abnormally active, not only soldiers but tech's and pilots where running across the hallways of the landed battleship 'Exodus'. The EDF had for a couple of days been working overtime in coordinating themselves without the guidance of their leader, Overlord Edward Zhane. But under the guidance of their Prime, Isabel Frost, the soldiers have been training combat simulations since the alert had begun. In a distant part of the outer rim, known to the Virulians as 'Eradanis' after a old Sol chart they had found, of a relatively close star system to the Old earth, their Outer rim forces had begun an assault against an enemy the Old Virulians had only dreamt of in nightmares, known only as the 'Scorn', these machine entities where sent when the first probe of the Creator entered Sirius. An advanced warning of sorts, none know. All that is known is that a single probe of the Scorn was encountered by the Virulians of old, almost 400 years ago, it took out a cruiser with ease, but was finally damaged enough for it to be seen as destroyed. The Creator had left some data on the Scorn, and told them to be their first creations, sent out to be scouts and probes, but their Artificial Intelligence had evolved into a hive mind like entity. Soon there after there ships began to use primitive humanoid life as grunts, implanted with a mind controlling machine, these soldiers have little to no will other then that of the hive mind. One of these things where found in the wreckage of the probe, after many years of research it was certain that the humanoid was alien, but its species was far less evolved then humanity, it was speculated that these things could only with the help of the hivemind they where connected to operate the star ships they where on-board and steered. The data on the Scorn had until recently been sealed of to all but the Primes and the overlord himself, it had now been released to all EDF members, and higher ups of the Virulian Council. It was time for war, but the hope rests on the forces currently deployed in 'Eradanis', a small force was to be sent with haste to lead the assault, but not until the Overlord, who has been absent for weeks, returns..
In a fiery torment - Guest - 01-01-2011 "Prime Frost." The officer performed a pectoral salute. "Sentry Waylin at your bidding." "Sentry Waylin, I am sending you a list of commanders that I want gathered. They are to meet me in my quarters within the hour." "Within the hour, mam? That shall be quite difficult even at your behest." Isabel smiled. "The Overlord commands it." The sentry smirked. "That will do the job I believe. May the creator watch over you." "And you." ****
A short time later in Frost's quarters stood the six commanders that she had requested. "Gentlemen. The creator has seen fit to test our resolve. As you know, those that our elders deemed the Scorn have made an unwelcome return. You have all seen the what they are capable of. They destroyed several of our cruisers with few loses to themselves." She paused briefly as a hologram of the previous battle gravitated the view of the commanders towards the rooms centre. The debris of five cruisers littered the battle area. Drones buzzed around, avoiding the incoming "flak" weapons as best they could, but to no avail. The drones were quickly downed. Several drones attempted to crashed into the enemy but their valiant sacrifices were useless as the Scorn's onslaught continued. One of the Grand Marshalls stepped forward, dissipating the hologram. "We are very aware of what happened Prime Frost. With respect this group were caught unprepared and unaware thanks to the information blackout regarding the Scorn. My troops will not be unprepared and with the Creator's blessing we shall wipe them from existence." Isabel frowned at the interruption. "Yes, Grand Marshall Thorn. You are correct, they were caught unprepared. But you are an fool if you believe that we will win with outright brutality." The frown still on her face, her eyes wandered to the other Grand Marshalls. "We are not here to fight each other. You are to gather the best men under your command and meet me in the briefing room on deck 34. You are dismissed." The Grand Marshalls saluted and left the room. Isabel again opened her wrist computer. "Edward, your will has been done. They shall arrive shortly. As shall I." In a fiery torment - Serpentis - 01-01-2011
In a fiery torment - Glis - 01-01-2011 Josh grinned as he left Isabel's quarters and he thought to himself "Haven't fought for a while, though this will be a challenge." He walked to deck 34 and stood in front of the Briefing room door, he opened his wrist computer and whispered a code into it, it was "SEW" then he said "Marshall Collins calling Sierra Elite Wing members to emergency briefing room on deck 34." the word "Acknowledged" could be heard from a few different voices and the communications was cut. Josh walked into the briefing room and saw Isabel he nodded and saluted again, then stood beside the chairs. Shortly after three more soldiers walked in saluting at the Prime they stood behind Josh, those were the rest of the Sierra wing pilots. They were, Brad Johnson, Matt Weber and Ross Scott. Whispering random non sense one to another the Prime shouted "Quiet!" they immediately stopped speaking and stood in position... In a fiery torment - Guest - 01-03-2011 Isabel smirked at the speed of Sierra Wing's reaction as she yelled quiet. "Well, I informed your Marshall of this briefing because I believed that your wing were sufficent to the task. But now I see that they are merely old nagging women dressed as fighter pilots." Isabel giggled. "Are you going to prove me wrong?" "Yes mam." One of the fighter pilots replied. Isabel did not know him. Then again she didn't know any of them excluding the Marshall. She merely requested that the Marshall attend because of his not to recent promotion. If he was to serve the EDF well then he needed to be tested. Isabel believed that he should be baptised by fire. "What say you Marshall, will you prove me wrong?" In a fiery torment - NixOlympica - 01-03-2011 Alec Pergesin entered the room while smoking. "Hello lads." He looked at Isabel ignoring the confused people looking at him and asked her "What's going on?" In a fiery torment - Glis - 01-03-2011 "Yes ma'am, no doubt we will do our best." he said with a bit of hesitation, he looked at the other pilots from the Sierra wing and they nodded at him. A man entered the briefing room, Collins looked at him and saw a smoke in his hand, he said "Dispose of the cigar please then come back." he looked at the Prime and she shook her head.... In a fiery torment - NixOlympica - 01-03-2011 Alec looked at man before him. "Are ya lookin' for dinner company or skilled pilot, lad?" He grinned. "If it's the second you will let me smoke here and rather tell me what's 'is fuss..." after a while he quietly added "It's a cigarette." In a fiery torment - Guest - 01-03-2011 Isabel shook her head again and laughed. "Marshall, to be fair, there's not rules against such thing." She looked at the time on her wrist computer. "However Pergesin, the Overlord will not appreciated the smoke. Perhaps it would best that you finished it now." In a fiery torment - NixOlympica - 01-03-2011 Alec smiled. "That's an attitude I like." He extinguished the cigarette and looked at Isabel then he almost unseemly winked at that man. "Isabel" he slightly nodded. He sat on one char and said "So what miracle are we all waitin' for?" |
