New Trader in town - booshk - 01-02-2008

Just hit 30 and am looking for a faction that has its act together, I hate learning things the hard way...Will try to get more bankroll saved up and more systems/jumps explored
, but hear the cap on the Civ ID is 39. Tried putting an application in with RepEx, but don't know if it took or not, kept getting error messages I am posting the message here,
if RepEx wants me they have dibs, but as long as its lawful I'm interested.

I have served as a ground pounder, seen some planet-side action, but couldn't keep my eyes from the sky...
Got up stakes enough to try to follow in the footsteps of my old man booshk (don't ask, coming from a military upbringing we just call each other by our call signs), but succesfully (he didnt have what it takes, lost a skirmish to some Xenos soon after leaving planetside for the first time, and has let it discourage him since) I've taken no overt hostile action against those who have not fied upon me, but as you
can see from the 11 fighters, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I did one transport mission being escorted, trying to learn the proper way of doing things (instead of trying to figure whether to dump or run),
just providing solid shield-eating support for the veteran escort to thoroughly demoralize any pirates,
half the engagements ended with pirate flight before any deaths were incurred on either side. While on the trip at one point an LSF cruiser took an interest in scanning our cargo, I had to make some frantic evasive actions to prevent docking with the trade lane ring I was almost in at the time, talking about close! The vet escort smoothed things over a bit, and let me know what to expect for future scans. I know in the transportation corps dirt side speed is the name of the game, so I guess I'll just have to slow it down some in certain sectors. Not long after resuming our journey, the talk naturally shifted to scanning and contraband.
Found out as it happens the pilot escorting me now used to run some illegal software, and think he still felt a little shame about it to this day, it's prolly why he chose the type of role he does now... I determined then and there I was gong to be legit, before I was pretty certain I wouldn't smuggle contraband, but to hear the regret in his voice over the com still today strengthened my resolve to never deal in contraband. As you can see I'm a quick study in exploration, touching down in places I don't know as often as possible while in a system to get a feel for the economics of the system, and I've found almost as many jumps as I have systems.
The current run I do is from Colorado system to New London System, I have been selling lane parts bought at Pueblo in Colorado to Waterloo in the New London System, then picking up berylium at Kensington Shipyard (one trade lane transit from Waterloo) and running it back to Pueblo station in Colorado, been making a pretty good profit at this... seems to be the best route I've found so far if a little long. I'm eager to learn anything you can teach me, but until then, you can com me somewhere between Colorado and New London Systems.

I've been on disco less than 3 full days, once was just long enough to see what it was like, had been up all night reinstalling and tinkering with software.to get my system to integrate peacefully, and had to get some shut-eye.

I wanted to work for RepEx when I saw:
"7. ABSOLUTELY NO smuggling of contraband or pirating of any kind is permitted by RepEx employees (fireable offense)"
Been scanning cargo as I pass other traders and see a lot of artifacts moving around in Liberty System.
You had me at firable offense. Let me know If I measure up to your recruiting standards.

Oh and I've talked booshk around into maybe giving it another go wth some proper equipment this time, (I shudder to even think of the equipment he was flying when he had that trouble with the Xenos), and we understand all about not serving on the same missions, its how the planet side militia works as well, family in different chain of commands and such, but booshk says he will always be thinkng of me in a transport any time he is given a chance to defend one.

BooshkeeBoy out.

Welcome to the party, mate! Glad to see somebody who has their act together for once. If you're looking far a faction, may I (bluntly) suggest Mine? The original faction is quite old, but we've recently undergone a major restructuring and stopped being Invite-only. We're Outcast, so we're all druggies, but I figure what the hey?

Oh, and I'm supposed to warn you about the cannibals, but James seems to have gotten there already...

New Trader in town - Jwnantze - 01-02-2008

Aren't you one of those Corsair Cannibals I'm always hearing about? Ah, yes, yes you are.

You know there are other Divisions in RepEx. I myself work Security. Sooo Your brother could be part of a security detail, and in my experience, Blood is thicker than water, and that whole family thing only matters if you are working for him or him for you. So have your brother sign up for RepEx Security, we always need good pilots!
