Biography: born in liberty, planet manhhatan, studied at good schools, high schools, good family and stuff.but in one moment in my life i saw the corruption of liberty, how they leave so many people "out of the gov. arms".. it was then that i leave manhhatan and felt a wish to do something about it . a coisin ( a junker) told me about the rogues and had some contacts.. when i realised i was assaulting trade lanes and smugling too.. by the time going, it allways hit me in deep , and sometime ago i could not take it anymore i knew what i was doing wasnt against corruption or in benefits of ther others, but only for myself. i escaped, got a ride in a freighter headed to independent systems and reached at freeport 10, on tau 37.. there i lived doing some small mechanics working there and there... some day i met an img guy who was retiring from space( he was very old) he told me about secrets of mining and was willing me to give me his ship if i help him in the minning.. so whith time i was very often in tau 23 minning, and docking at java station so it was that i made that place my home, and it is also near my field of operations that is niobium.
so, now, i want to live anew life.. pay for my mistakes by laboring hard and helping others and the company. i have no warranties today,(they all invalidated by so many year and the cases are closed)
stay in taus and make them my home, like our ancestors did when left earth.

I was born on TK Station. Never heard of it? That's no surprise at all. TK Station was a little station in Bering, run by the TK's. The Station was neither big nor special, but it was our Home. We were a little Community; actually we were more like family. 200 decent people, not rich but survivors. We survived as the Jack-of-all-Trades of the System. But that was all before my time. When I was two years old, the station was attacked by Liberty Rouges. At that time I was with my father on a work trip to Hamburg so I survived. The rest did not have that much luck, only 6 of 237 people survived the attack me and my father included.
After that we moved to Bethlem Station in Pennsylvania. My father decided to join the liberty navy to get his revenge on those who did that to his family. After a few years he cooled down a bit and realized that revenge won't bring his family back. By that time he started to work as an instructor for new recruits. As a result of that my brother and me came in contact with spaceships quite early. With only twelve years I flew my first fighter, with 14 my first freighter. Around that age I realized that the military was nothing for me. I always had a problem with people who try to tell me what I can or cannot do. It was the same for my brother, who is four years older than me. When he turned 21 he hired on a freighter and left us. After that I was quite lost, I did not know what to do with my life. I wanted to leave but a freighter seemed boring to me and the military was out of question. I am person who constantly needs to be fascinated by something otherwise I am not happy. My father always said: "Curiosity kills the cat" but that's who I am. Life should be interesting!
One day 'uncle TK' visited us. He was employed by CR and brought pictures and stuff from the border worlds with him. I was thrilled. From that moment on I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to see what was out there. I finished school and worked whenever I could. When I finally turned 21 I had enough money to get myself a little ship. It was an old Defender. The beginning was hard, I knew nothing about outer space, was nearly killed twice by ion storms and struggled to get money to pay for fuel. After a few months it was getting better, I knew what would bring me money and what would most likely kill me. Three years into business I was able to get myself a new ship. The following years were the best of my life.
But nothing lasts forever, right?
I made a mistake; or rather I made a few that led me here to apply today. I will just start from the beginning. It all started on Java Station where I met an old buddy of mine with whom I shared information a few times before. He sold me the information that he spotted a few meteors of pure niobium in Tau-44, a few hundred Tons each he said. I was really excited, these things are rare and normally you need a mining ship to process the ore to sell it. I expected easy money. After I entered Tau-44 my scanners picked up a few strange readings but I thought they were just scanner ghosts. My mistake. I found the meteors shortly after that. I was nearly done with the mining when suddenly Outcasts uncloaked themselves. I froze in terror, when I realized what uncloaked there. 7 heavy fighters, 3 Gunboats and a Cruiser, all of them only 15k away and my engines were cold. I realized I was going to die. Strangely after that thought everything was sudden cleared up. My thoughts were suddenly crystal clear, I remembered what happened to our family. I realized the only objective left: how can I kill as many of them before I die. But what could I do? I was flying a fighter with a few lasers and nothing more. Then it struck me, Niobium and these Screamer mines I found in the last wreck. Instantly I checked my cargo bay, yes! There were still some broken rockets nobody wanted to buy. Against my will I had to laugh. Those bastards were going to experience hell!
I realized I had to be fast, the Outcasts were already approaching. I ordered the AI the find the biggest niobium meteor around. After that started creating a hole in the Meteor. Luckily I upgraded to Purple Goddess Chain guns a few months ago. It would be close, only 12K left! Putting the guns to auto fire I stared to program the mines in a way that I could detonate them remotely, they would not have any homing or friend foe detection but that would not be important, I hoped. After that I dropped the Mines from the cargobay and started to work on the rockets. I ordered the AI to separate the explosives from the engines and tractor everything that can explode into the hole I made before. Hopefully the these would be strong enough. Now the only most dangerous part was left. I charged my engines and started to put some distance between me and the meteors. 3k left, 2k,1k on 500m I shot the explosives in the meteor and at the same time I detonated the screamer mines. Boooom! It worked! The explosion broke the Meteor into tiny pieces, which instantly cooled down due the temperatures. The niobium instantly became a superconductor. Now image a 3km³ cloud of superconductors in which you detonate 67 nuclear pumped emp mines. I will never forget this view, lightning kilometers long, spreading across the sky. Those mesmerizing colors! I saw a fighter getting hit, well hit is the wrong word, it was pierced, the flash went though, leaving a 20 meters hole in the ship. 5 of the fighters instantly vanished, the others emitting pods. The gunboats were hit even worse, 2 exploded, most likely due to failure of the magnetic bottle in there fusion reactors. The other one left a trail of pods. Only cruiser seemed to be unharmed. That was a problem because my ship was, by any means, not unharmed. 80% of my sensory equipment just melted, navigation was down due to electric interference. But I was still alive. I tractored in everything I saw charged the engines and ran. I did not know where I was going but I noticed a jump hole not far. Saved I though! It was close but I made it. On the other end of the jump hole I was instantly surrounded by ships. "Here speaks IMG Guard Captain Matos. You are under arrest for espionage and trespassing!' Great I thought, now I am dead for sure. From one trap to the next. They shut down all my sensors and escorted me to a base. They put me in a cell and I expected to rot there. To my surprise the next day I was told to shower and dress.
They brought me to some important looking Person. I was expected to get my death sentence, he offered me tea. He was actually quite interested in how I was able to catch 2 gunboat captains with just a fighter and when I told him how he was really thrilled. How I found out later he was head of the research department at that station. We had a good talk that day, about what we saw out in space, and the interesting thing out there. He called me the next day again, and after that. We became something like friends I think. After a few weeks they told me that I was actually lucky, due to my broken equipment I did not see anything while arriving, so they were willing to let me go, but I had to leave my ship to them, because due to particles on the hull it could be determined what they were working on. I thought they were paranoid. The next day when I was about to leave in some piece of scrap, my friend came to me and made me an offer. If I were willing to deliver a box to a certain somebody he would give me a ship. I said yes because I could only be better that this piece of (s)crap they gave me. I was stunned when he showed me the ship. A spatial, it was run down and quite old, but still it was a spatial! He said that it would be scraped otherwise so I could have it. I took the ship and delivered the package. As I found out later the package was full of cookies for his daughter. After that I realized that he gave me the ship for free and I didn't even thank him properly. Also it made me realize that I miss to share what I experienced with somebody who is just as fascinated by space as I am.

I am here today because I would like to join your ranks. You see, for a long time I have tried to make some money for myself as an independent miner, but those sniffing, Outcast bastards, wouldnt let me. As a miner on your own out in space, you dont have that much protection, Im sure you know that. Anyway, I gave up on that thought and out of anger, I just got a fighter and charged at some Outcasts in a suicide mission. My plan was to injure some of them and die proudly, for I had nothing left. Turns out, Im quite good at piloting those little buggers, and the Outcast scum ran away.

I used to be a mercenary and to be honest, quite a successful one, unfortunatly one of my "friends" decided that he could do the same. He took my ship and went off to Corsair space, to hunt some contracts. Apparently, he wasn't really a great pilot since he crashed into a Corsair base during a fight. The problem for me is that his stupid action nearly bankrupted me, the major part of my money was invested in my ship. After talking to some contacs I managed to get some credits and worked my way slowly up, right now I realise that being part of a faction gives many advantages and that I can grow faster if I would be a part of one and that it also gives satisfaction to see that other people can benefit from your work. I won't say that I've grown tired of being a mercenary, but right now I prefer the " peace " that mining and trading gives.

Mining is the quickest way to make money. But being a non-faction related miner slows things down. I'd prefer the Miner department(But I don't mind trading either)

My family was killed during the Nomad invasion. I was paralyzed by how powerless we were in the beginning. I guess that was my defining moment, when i decided to make ships and weapons to protect people from things like that ever again. My inventing was sparked originally by my grandfather who also was an inventor, and we have him to thank for many advances in tachyon based weaponry as well as the defender line of positronic shield generation. I built a laboratory deep in the Omegas to further my research and designs when one of the supply ships from Daumann that regularly stops in to supply my little operation took off before they had even finished unloading. Later did i find that one of the crewmembers was no Daumann employee and had stolen the plans to my ship design. That was when I decided to apply here. Funds, protection of designs, larger research facilities and collaboration, as well as the opportunity to grease a few corsairs and outcasts on a routine "test" pilot run. Sounds like a winning combination to me.

I played TNG for years and just recently dusted off Freelancer for the first time in about 2 years. i refreshed the multiplayer tab to see where most people were, and when i saw this to be most popular mod and server i hopped right in. I have never been part of any player faction as of yet.
