Ok, hello developers. I saw one big problem we got here, its lack of icons for all those new ships we got there. Icon is actualy easy to make and takes about 4 minutes tops if you don`t have bloody clue about photoshop. But you have allready made bunch of nice ships and dangled with textures for at least day or two, probably even more. I am quite content on making those icons for sake of making Disco more stylish. So, here is deal, i need simple screenshots of all those ships that lack icon, and i will make one thats ready to be simply pluged in (64X64 targa file, with those default backgrounds).

Best screenshots come from shipdealer screen, and should be in same angle as on original icons. Here is an example:

Also, most if not all capital ships lack proper icon because of simple problem of not being able to zoom out in ship dealer preview. Hence I would also like screenshots of cap ships, freighters, gunboats and cruisers. Screens should be taken in turret mode, same angle as icon ships, and possibly in blue star systems, since they have lowest tint change on color.

I would make screenshots myself, but i do not have time or will to make char with freelancer id and fly around sirius taking snapshots. Please post only link to your screenshot.

Jinx, if you read trough whole post you will see i stated i need bs shoots too, and hot to take them, and yes it is possible to make custom weapon icons, and custom anything icons, gimme material and il make it. For weapons, i saw that sometimes when you enter equipment dealer or some ship dealers, weapon rack appears, can someone shoot that too, i could extract weapon from there and then wrap and modify it to resemble original weapon icons. Also i can make commodities icons, gimme material and requests.

For capship and transport screenshots it is the best to place the ship in front of a gas planet. Will make it easier to edit the pic and of cours the camera angle should be as shown in Bjorns examples.

Btw, Doom has mentioned he want to do that, but don't know about his progressions.

about weapons - since the weapon models are rather limited - i was more thinking of a real custom image. something that gets close to wht the weapon is about - so use any chaingun model for chainguns - and plasma guns look a bit bigger - but one barrled. i don t know ...

just something that gives you an idea of what the weapon is about by its icon alone, even without looking at the stats - got the drift? the models used in freelancer are OK - but they are too neutral, too non specific. - someone had a post with handheld weapons of scifi type once - but i don t know what thread it was. but i guess there are other games that might have icons that might fit ( battletech, fallout - anything that has a lot of different weapons )
