Dungeons and Dragons - Tabris - 02-17-2011

So anyone here play the Pen-Paper version of the game? If so than what edition ruleset?:)

Dungeons and Dragons - gafwmn - 02-17-2011

I'm starting to play again with the 3.5 and 4.0 rule-sets,but am quickly looking for the old 1st edition rules.IMHO,the game has been neutered with the way they have changed things.
Everything went downhill when they made the Bard a regular class......not something that you worked your butt off to obtain.

3.5

Curently playing 4.0,but i have 1.0,2.0,3.0,3.5,and ofcourse 4.0 I must admit i miss 1.0 it was just so much more open to sheer craziness.
I sooo miss our favorite NPC. Little wooden boy.(basically a keg, with a face) He was great at finding, and setting off all the traps for us. At last count we were on little Wooden Boy mk45.Now with stronger dwarf spirits for those dull moments on watch.

Dungeons and Dragons - Araevin Teshurr - 02-17-2011

I play 4.0 and DM a 3.5 campaign. As well as play a D&D style game that my friend made.
Pen and paper alllll the way, no crappy WoW or anything.

Dungeons and Dragons - ProwlerPC - 02-17-2011

I've been playing it since the first edition just prior to the release of the second edition.

I still have a vast amount of notes, encounters, NPCs, custom dungeons etc.... at my disposal. The longer your a DM the larger the resource pile is to draw upon.

I've kept up with the editions to present time. I ended up stopping playing due to needing to work and all that but I've written my fair share of short adventures that I've submitted to TSR and Dragon Magazine as well as a general ton of creative single encounter setups. My biggest strength in being able to put together adventures quickly is the sheer amount of already pre-written stat sheets I never throw away to be re-used again under a different setting and situation.

I've been quite quiet since Wizards of the Coast bought the franchise, but I still kept buying and reading the source books. I kinda wished the D20 system was invented back when I was a regularly active DM as I find it prefferable, it allows me more leeway for when it's necessary to apply a little mercy to a character on the receiving end of an unlucky roll he doesn't know about.

:DSweet, I've been trying to find a new group to play with but it's hard since alot of people in my town don't really play.:(Will have to resort to online friends on Ventrilo to play. X_X

I love the Wizard class, Necromancy School FTW!:D

Dungeons and Dragons - Wolfs Ghost - 02-17-2011

My group of friends started playing a 3.5 D&D game, but then we started branching out into Shadowrun, Mage, and some others. XD

Dungeons and Dragons - Tabris - 02-17-2011

I play 3.5.:)Although I don't play very often due to so few players.:(

I absolutely hate fighters. -_- They are my bane....
