A very bad day - Cannon - 02-22-2011 As a few people have asked... I live a small city of about 400k people called Christchurch in New Zealand. We've just had another bad earthquake. It is bad. We had a 7.1ish one a few months ago and nobody died. At least 65 people have died today. There are now burning collapsed buildings in the central city. The building opposite my wife's office collapsed as she was leaving. This is not fun. I and my family are okay although my wife had to walk home as the entire city was gridlocked. A very bad day - Zelot - 02-22-2011 Great to hear you and yours are ok Matt. Take care of things, no thoughts of this place, ya hear? We can hold down the fort for a while. A very bad day - exlibrismortis - 02-22-2011 YAY!! He's ALIVE!! Good to hear from you mate! Hope everything gets right and well with everyone there. Stay safe! A very bad day - Dusty Lens - 02-22-2011 Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know that you and yours are in good health Cannon. We appreciate it a great deal. A very bad day - Cannon - 02-22-2011 Actually, more accurately the building beside hers collapsed and 20 people died in it...she walked home past that. Not very nice. A very bad day - Korny - 02-22-2011 Most happy that you and your loved ones are alright mate. A very bad day - AeternusDoleo - 02-22-2011 Sounds like you guys will have your hands full over there for a while. Not much you can do about quakes... If it was a big one keep yourself safe in case of any aftershocks. Echoing what Zelot said, this place can manage itself for a while if you need to take care of things. A very bad day - Avalanche - 02-22-2011 A dreadful shame to hear of the situation, but its good to hear that your family is safe and together. I hope you and residents of Christchurch get through these hard times with speed. Don't worry about Discovery until then. A very bad day - Not Espi - 02-22-2011 good to hear, that at least you and your family are fine. good luck in the near future, man. |
