In theory, yes, as long as the persons blood was laced heavily with cardamine, which means the blood would have to be either from and Outcast, or someone taking it in large quantities.

I imagine that, like any drug, if the blood saturation levels were sufficient to impart some manner of contact high comparable to that of that of the original narcotic the individual in question would be deader than a dead thing.
By which I mean: Yeah sure, it sounds good for dramatic effect. Who doesn't like the idea of gangs roaming the streets of Manhattan looking for rich smegheads to drag off with aims to drain the fellow's blood for the happy drugs therein?

I'd say, first of all, Cardamine is addictive, in large enough quantities, and like Dusty said, in high enough concentrations, yeah sure.
But like Cardamine taken normally, it would take a little while of using it regularly for it to alter the DNA and become permanent.
It's not a very effective way of taking it though, you wouldn't drink the piss of a Cardi addict for a fix.

It's not really the plan of the character. The character, named Dr. Vladimir Acula, Hematologist, would find blood curiously attracting to drink, when he's only really addicted to cardamine, though he would associate it with an addiction to blood itself and would go out in cannibalistic rampages to get his fix of blood, but since most people he'll find will not be cardamine addicts, he'll just crave for more blood, and then he'll suffer from severe Cardamine withdrawal, which would explain his instability, but he would still look for blood.

You know it's possible that a Doctor in Hematology might be inclined to test the blood that he's, for reasons unknown, slurping down in order to isolate the factor that renders it so delectable.
He might notice that it's so full of Cardamine that it's basically a Orange Goo Slurpy.
Just a thought.

Yes, it's an issue I've bugged on as well. It wouldn't make sense for him not to discover it, but then again, he might already be suffering from the withdrawal and slowly losing his sanity before he could, but that would imply he'd have done that for some time without questioning it.
