Hello guys, i started the freelancer new, but my dad's playing it really long.
I'm not skilled at Freelancer, or anything in computers, but he showed me something, a justice mk I which shoots as "Black Widow" particle, it's black/red , i really loved it, i have a bomber now, he said he can change the EMP and Energy Cannons particle as black/red , is that allowed guys?

Ah god.. they are looking cool :/ Okay ....

Mh, actually I don't see why not if it doesn't impact the guns' performance in any way.

You should wait for an admin input, but I think it's been said IF it's only a cosmetic change, it shouldn't be a problem.

I believe during some point pink hornviper guns existed. If it's just changing the visuals and not damage and performance it won't be a problem.

Particles - celestina - 02-26-2011

Well, i checked it dont changes their performance, emps still not dealing any hull damage:)

It can be considered as tampering game files if it changes anything else than color, such as adding/removing trails and increasing/decreasing projectile size. I think.

That and you will probably get kicked for bad installation anyway.

If I remember correctly, there's nothing in the FX-ini file for weapon projectiles that can change the weapons damage ... however, wait for an Admin is always the best solution;)

There are already people flying around the server with modified projectile effects and admins are well aware of it. As long as you don't change anything related to performance of a weapon, you can do all you want with its looks.

Unless you mess up while changing the projectile and do some unneeded change that effects the performance of that gun, which then would cause some problems with anti-cheat system, so you'd better be really careful when changing anything.
