The Zoners harbour Corsairs on their fabled planet of Gran Canaria.
We ask why. The Zoners sold the Corsairs the route to Dublin and our home, Londonderry. Our home that they then destroyed. We ask why. The Zoners do nothing to help the Mollys struggle for freedom and instead throw useless words around. We ask why. We would be pleased if you could answer the above three questions. It is unlikely we will be pleased with the answers. Our view is that the VE are accountable for the security of Omega-49 and so are also accountable for the actions of the residents. We expect an answer soon. To: The Zoners, and VE, of Omega-49 - ZTC.Board - 03-02-2011 >>> Incoming Encrypted Transmission <<<
[color=#000000] | Source : Omicron 74 | | ID : Omicroners | Corsairs are living on Gran Canaria, Bretonians are living on Gran Canaria, and many other people are living on Gran Canaria but we are not asking them why, although we should. The Zoners Way. Zoners are supposed to have sold Gran Canaria and Omega 49 off but we have to ask: Why have we never got anything in return for it but the attacks on Freeports in the Omicrons? Why should the Mollys get spared if we were not? The Mollys believe that being dispossessed is actually the same as selling away. The Omicroners are wondering why the Mollys are not ready to fight for their freedom themselves, but intentend to rely on the Zoners instead!? Where were the Mollys when the Corsairs attacked our homes - pondering upon the fundamental question who could be suitable to free them? If the Mollys are searching for answers they are advised to ask wise men. They might even ask the Corsairs why these are waging war on them. They might also believe that they can blame Zoners for their own struggle against insignificance, but is that the way to the Mollys' freedom? The Mollys are asking Zoners because they do not dare to ask the Corsairs, and the Omicroners have stopped to ask questions nobody will answer, so the Omicroners do not ask the Mollys why they are gambling with perspectives. All people on Gran Canaria are Zoners to the Omicroners, regardless of their origins because Zoners do not believe in the past but in their future, so if the Zoners of Bretonian and Corsair origin have not realized yet what they really are it is not the fault of the other Zoners. To: The Zoners, and VE, of Omega-49 - Doc Holliday - 03-03-2011 *incoming transmission* Comm ID: [TAZ]Doc Holliday Location: Tombstone Estate, Planet Gran Canaria To: The Molly Council *Doc appears to be exhausted and slightly annoyed but otherwise professional. His old but mild old Earth southern accents is slightly heard* Kallisti, Mollys! I really thought I had settled this matter some time back with the late Molly Republic leader Colin Breen. By what I am reading, I guess not. You ask why Corsairs live on Gran Canaria. Long before any of the current Zoner leadership were ever here, the founders of Gran Canaria had finally found a place to call home, away from the Houses they wanted away from. When the Dublin jumphole was found, they feared the expansionism of the House of Bretonia. There answer? Hire Corsairs to deter people from moving in. Little did we know that a small colony of them were on the back side of the planet, undetected to our sensors of the time. It also hasn't been easy for us either. At one point, we wanted them off the planet. What was the Corsair response? The late Omega Pirates Guild, led by Sparta, brought in a fleet of capital warships. We had a choice. Live in peace with those colonists on the back side or fight a war we would not win. Not only did those Corsair colonists choose the Zoner way, they have never been a bother nor have the Corsairs been a bother to us in Omega 49. You ask why we sold the route to Dublin and Londonderry. We did no such thing. I find it offensive that we as a people would be accused of it. You ask what the Zoners have done to assist the Mollies in their struggle for freedom. Well, we certainly cannot fight a war against the Bretonian crown for you but in those talks with Colin Breen, we acknowledged Dublin as Molly space. It's not much but it is a start. We even agreed to buy Molly gold to help them make some profit for their cause. Mr. Breen also authorized my late founder, Malcalypse, to mount a mission to planet Cork to see what we could do to make a difference. I myself have on a couple of occasions delivered much needed engine components to Arranmore. I even offered the services of Med.Force.One to bring aid and treatment to the Molly people. All of these things have either been rejected or conveniently forgotten. While miners mine Dublin gold and Molly captains fight for a tax of the profits and understandably so, we do nothing more than pass through the system with deuterium fuel to other systems. Even after what we have offered, we still get taxed ourselves. So while the Molly people fight for their freedom, we too continue our own struggle for ours. We supply ourselves so that others don't have to, often traversing Corsair space to deliver those goods. We have no choice but to keep at least a quiet co-existence with them for that reason. Still, we fight to remain free of house rule, often fighting off that independent Corsair who still feels that they need to strip the armor off of our ships with their guns. Having said all this, I must ask you, Molly Council, what is it you expect us to do? Kick the Corsairs out? Fight the Bretonian Crown? Return to House space, abandon our diplomacy and live under the oppressive rule that you yourselves fight against? We have found ways to peacefully live amongst our neighbors, might I suggest you find a way to do the same or should I take the advice of the late Colin Breen who once told me, "Neutrality isn't giving something to all, it's giving nothing to everyone!" One last thing to consider. With the dissolve of the Zoner Alliance, there is no central government body to control things. But hey, it's what people wanted. To them I say, live with the mess it's caused, this includes the constant ignorance of the NFZ's around Freeports and unrestricted use of Zoner tech. Choose your words carefully, Council.
